Ratings & Reviews for Bosch Natural Stone Tile 1/4-in x 2-1/4-in High-speed steel Masonry Drill Bit For Hammer drill
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
The drill bit performs well for some tile types like travertine and marble, but struggles with harder tiles like porcelain. Its durability is inconsistent, with some users reporting it lasting through multiple holes and others finding it dulling or breaking after just a few uses. Proper tool selection and drilling technique are important, as using a hammer drill and going slowly and steadily seems to yield the best results.

Would Not RecommendEven though the package says used on tile. Do not try to use it on porcelain tile. It took me 30 minutes to drill three holes and then it smoked checked its self. That was also using water while drilling. Get a diamond bit for porcelain tile.
Not for porcelain tile regardless what Lowe's says
Would RecommendDid a search on Lowe's website for a porcelain tile drill bit and this came up as a possible product. Since they had them in stock at my local store I picked a couple of them up but the first had trouble drilling through the tile. It wasn't until I grabbed the second and read Bosch's product documentation where it clearly states (in small print) that this bit is not for porcelain tile.

Works well!
Would RecommendIt took a couple tries before I mastered using this drill bit. The trick, at least for me, was to go slow and keep steady pressure on the drill. Once I got that correct, the bit made clear, sharp holes in the tile. The bit did not heat up as I had expected, which was a pleasant safety security.

INSTRUCTIONS ARE CONFUSING
Would RecommendOn the back of the package it mentions using this bit with a hammer drill. Is that correct? i tried everything to send a pic but your system kept saying error. VERY FUSTRATING!

It's a good bit
Would RecommendI was sent four Bosch “natural stone tile bits” to review, all different sizes. This review is for the 5/16” size. First, the packaging is annoying. I needed to use a boxcutter to get the bit out. That said, though, the quality of the bit pretty much made up for the package. As you can see in the photos, the hole cut into the tile I tried it on was very good…although compared to the smaller two bits, the edges of the hole were just a little ragged.

Good overall bit
Would RecommendGood bit runs through a paving stone easily. There is no wear showing on the tip or cutting edges. Good for stone as well no extra wear from that.usi g a hammer drill made no issues.
Overall good masonary bit.
Would RecommendThis bit did a good job on a paving stone. Had trouble with a ceramic tile but i blame the tile. On a stone it didn't bind at all. There is no wear showing on the bit.
Great little tile bit!
Would RecommendI was tiling a built in cabinet and needed a phone outlet in the back corner for a phone and fax machine. I used the stone tile bit to make the perfect hole without breaking the tile. It made a nice smooth hole perfect for what I was needing.
Great tile bit

Sharp
Would RecommendThis bit worked great on the tile I had installed in a bathroom. I had to hang a towel rack with very small anchors. I used painters tape at the hole and the hole drilled was very clean and sharp.
Useless
Would Not RecommendTrying to drill 4 holes, couldn't go any deeper than 1/8" into standard backsplash tile. It's useless now
