What Customers Are Saying

The gas can has several design issues that make it challenging to use. The spout and nozzle mechanism is overly complicated, leading to frequent spills and leaks when pouring fuel. The rigid spout design and difficulty in holding and balancing the can also contribute to control problems. Additionally, the spout and nozzle are prone to breaking or malfunctioning after limited use. While the safety features are well-intentioned, the overall execution has resulted in a product that is less functional than simpler, older gas can designs.

A little bit of a learning curve, but ok now.

The pour spout has a 'push to open' valve that requires you to push the end into the tank you're filling to 'open' the valve. So you line up the spout, tip the can, and then push the spout into the tank you're filling. Designed to prevent spills when the spout isn't fully 'in' the tank your filling I suppose - seems a bit overkill, but is certainly effective.

I hate this gas can a lot.

Would Not Recommend

I hate this thing. The top is really hard to get off because it has a bunch of teethe that push against a tab so you can't turn it without holding the tab in. The tab is extremely hard to push. The spout is a whole different story. There's a piece that you have to turn and push up and hold while you pour the gas. The part that turns has slots that almost line up with some tabs. There' a spring forcing the part that turns down so it has to be held very tight to keep the spout open so the gas will...

Bought in April 2018. Hate product!

Would Not Recommend

Had to get help to open it & it leaked gas all over when pouring. I now use a funnel to pour gas into mower & keep the cap loose. When can is empty I am returning it to Lowe's. I even went back to Lowe's to see why it is so difficult & the nice manager also had a terrible time getting it to operate. Government mandated because of emissions law - they need a better idea.

Very diisappointed

Would Not Recommend

This gas can made me mad enough to write my first ever product review. Bought the can today, filled it up with 2 gallons of gas, and filled my pushmower. Ended up with gasoline on my hands, my pants, my boots, the pushmower deck, my shed floor, and worst of all...my face. The safety feature built into the nozzle works to stop the flow of gas by moving quickly outward when you stop applying downward pressure. This rapid outward motion caused the gas to splash from the mower tank up onto my fa...

Don't buy me

Would Not Recommend

I am so tired of the way they try to make it so you can't get fuel out of these things. The protection to prevent accidental spills is over and above what is required or needed. It is a puzzle to try to figure this one out, I wish it was the 70's again where you just opened it and poured it in the lawn mower. I would never recommend this to anyone, worst can I have ever bought, I ended up overflowing my mower tank because of the way you have to manipulate it to pour, you can't see what you ar...

Drips gas

Would Not Recommend

The gimmicks always fail.... the spout drips and spills on whatever you’re pouring into. A mess to wipe up! Wish I’d just picked a simple cap/spout like my old one

Sorry gas can

Would Not Recommend

I never could get it to pour gas out the spout. Bought new lawn mower and it bent the gas tank flange trying to dispense gas into new mower tank. I guess there are few metal gas cans for anything less that $50. I just re-acquired my metal gas can and when it is emptied, I will return it to Lowe's expecting a full refund.

Can does a good job of holding in gasoline and minimizing spills or leaks but the green snap and lock part does not hold in place well without using manual support

Nozzle sucks

Would Not Recommend

This new nozzle design is ridiculous. You have to remove and reinsert several times just to fill up a lawn mower. I spilled quite a bit of gas just trying to get the thing to operate as intended. I had to spend about 10 bucks more to buy a replacement nozzle that should have come with the gas can in the first place.

This spout will make you angry

Hadn't bought a gas can since the EPA apparently changed the standard on gas cans. The new regulation renders them frustrating to work with and will make you almost certainly spill MORE gas than the older style can with a vent (due to an overly complex spout/vent system). Seriously, you are guaranteed to spill gas with this system. Not really a knock on the maker of the can, but.......come on.

Not what I expected in a gas can!

Would Not Recommend

Very! hard to open because of the safety feature. It hurts your hands to open it. Safety feature prevents a person from completely sealing the can, such that it can leak during transport. Spring loaded valve hangs up in my lawn tractor tank and spills gas down the side of the tank. I should probably return it to Lowe’s where I purchased it.

Terrible design

Would Not Recommend

If you can avoid these new government design safety cans, do. Takes 3 hands to operate, cannot regulate flow, overflowed my mower tank because you can't see how full the tank is. Poor design that makes filling small tanks more danderous that the old flex-type spout equipped cans. Don't buy these.

Overpriced and didn't work for me

Would Not Recommend

This gas can was almost $17. I don't blame the mfg but the environmental regulations I'm sure that they are trying to abide by. However the pour spout did not work for me and something broke in it on the first use. They probably can't do it but I'd just as soon have a simple plastic gas can, w/no safety features that work.

Horrible

Would Not Recommend

Gas never poured out the funnel but dumped out from where it’s screwed to the can. Should have had an idea that it was a lousy product when two Lowe’s workers couldn’t figure it out.
