Does what its supposed to do.

The trimmer did not perform as well as my cheap, B&D ST1000 trimmer. The line that came with the ST4500 constantly broke and had to be reset. I went through an entire spool because the line snapped off whenever we hit concrete.

Good product

It is a good cheap alternative if you want to get edge or get weeds out of your flower bed.

used, missing parts:

I was really looking forward to getting a new weedeater, however, when it was delivered today I discovered that it had been used. It did not have shield guard or metal piece to hold it in place. No instruction booklet and spool had already been inserted and appeared used. My printer isn't working so I can't print out return label so I guess I will put on my mask and return it to my local store.

Grass Trimmer use!

I purchased this Grass trimmer and used both my $20.00 Father's Day gift card and my U.S.M.C.and purchased this tool for only $9.00! I brought it home and used it to CLEAR OUT my overgrown WEED Garden. It worked WONDERFULLY.It took me about a half hour or less to do it. I gave my other two trimmers to my grandson! This TOOL is a God Send!! I trust Lowe's!

GETS THE JOB DONE, BUT...

If you want a bump string trimmer instead of an automatic dispenser type then this is what you want. It is inexpensive but gets the job done. The one problem it has, at least for me, is that the bump spool is designed to fail. They want you to buy new ones which are ridiculously priced unless you get generic ones. Hurricane proof

I bought this trimmer about 7 years ago and use it to cut my strip of lawn 15' x 110' every 1 to 2 weeks in the summertime. This trimmer was left out in the weather for 3 months folIowing hurricane Michael and I was going to throw it in the trash so I tested it first and was amazed it was still working. Great after replacing the string

I had same problem reported by others- within 5 minutes the string broke and I had to take off the spool. But I had read the original string is junk and you can see it's the super cheap milky plastic type. I had some blue powercare hex .065 and I can feel it's a stronger string. i love this

super awesome light weight, only one whole for the string !! big plus, directions suck, but who needs em.....except i did for the metal bar guide thing....i put it in the wrong holes and it wouldn't go....no spin, so i took it off completely and worked like a charm, did my entire front, back , sides and edging as well....worked great ! my arms didn't even get tired because its nice and light ! i now understand where the guide bar goes, above the motor holes, i get it..... highly recommend for u...

spool feed doesnt work

i guess you get what you pay for . It was cheap and it was the lightest one available. But the tap to feed the cord just does not work at all. I have tiny hands so the spool is difficult to get to release more cord.

Hot Hot Hot

The wacky wacker began to burn up after about 15 minutes or so of wacking weeds. Not very thick ones and grass along my fence. POOF!

This product is bad

The battery on this only lasted 20 minutes. I went to L:owes for a refund and Lowe's would not give my money back. A second battery cost as much as the product. I purchased a Ryobi and it is great. I buy nothing at Lowe's now

Line will not Feed

I wish I had viewed the reviews of this product before I purchased it. They were right the line will not feed correctly. Probably will not buy Black and Decker products again.

Nice and Light weight for me!!

Nice and Light weight for me!! This trimmer is much better then my other trimmer was,I was able to get it to rotate alot better than my last trimmer. This rotates alot easier also.My yard and around my rose bushes look alot better.Black and Decker is a great product.

Stopped advancing string

Purchased this in 2019, and it worked fine for the summer and fall of 2019. Brought it out of storage to use in spring of 2020. The string would advance occasionally, then it stopped advancing all together. I would not recommend using this trimmer past one season.

Difficult to Change Line

I puchased a few weeks ago replacing and old Craftsman Line Trimmer. Have used it twice incredibly frustrating, the line keeps breaking and the effort to get the spool out of the housing is not easy and poorly designed.

chews through string

Make sure you buy extra string because this one chews through it. Also it looses the string so i have to disassemble it repeatedly to reset the string. Very frustrating!

Crap, but for the money what do you expect

large yard to edge and weed eat. Re-line spool 2x just to edge large corner lot. Frustrated every time I use. Removed wire guide works better I guess

Does the job i need it too

I bought this last week and i love it..its light weight and does the job..i can't handle anything too heavy with going thru cancer treatments..great price also..i didn't want to deal with gas and oil ..plug it into an extension cord and get it done..i have a small area to care for

Good Quality Single Line Trimmer

Hard to find single line grass trimmer, and one that performs just as well as high amp dual line ones- notably more.expensive. This trimmer spool reloads quickly & easily and bump feeds without fail.
