Controlling Japanese Stiltgrass

Here in Maryland, we are facing the invasion of Japanese Stiltgrass (Microstegium vimineum) in lawns and on properties. For areas where you can use non-selective herbicides, there are plenty of options. But for Japanese Stiltgrass in lawns, there is basically only one selective herbicide options. Fexoxaprop-p-ethyl. Bayer Advanced with 0.41 Fexoxaprop-p-ethyl will control Stiltgrass.

Good but not Great!

I purchased this product last year. It seems to have done a better job last year and then it is doing now. I'm not sure if the formulation has changed, but I don't feel it is as effective as it was. I will continue to use for the season but not sure if I will buy it next season.

Need a Refund

I used this crabgrass killer for my backyard when I got some crabgrass. I used one application as directed and the crabgrass never died off. So, the crabgrass killer only killed the weeds. I love the BAYER ADVANCED Home Pest Plus Germ Killer 1-Gallon Insect Killer and the BAYER ADVANCED Season Long 24-fl oz Weed Killer. That always works for me. no effect, but no consumer product will

Before buying this product I did research on post-emergent, selective crabgrass killer and found none available to the consumer. Even pro applied products have limited success. But I decided to give it a try anyway because some reviewers claimed success. I applied per directions to the letter, with reapply after two weeks. As expected, it was completely ineffective for me. Bayer Advanced Crabgrass Killer.

Kills Crabgrass very well. Superior to the all in 1 plus Crabgrass product. I do not like the applicator though uneven mix. So I actually go over area twice,one direction then the other. This does half the suggested coverage though.

Not effective in July/August in MA/NH

I tried this product on my lawn and had poor results. I followed the instructions to the letter and only saw it perform as directed where I applied it at double or triple the rate prescribed. I purchased Drive XLR8 online and had excellent luck with it. At $75 per half gallon it doesn't seemt cheap but it only takes 3 tablespoons to do 1,000 sqft. That's a full acre (42,000sqft) for $75. The Bayer product supposedly covers 5,000 sqft but I think you're more likely to have luck if you use one ...

Good as or better than other products, convenient

I have used this product for a number of years. It has not failed. When my daughter bought a house the lawn was a mess. I applied as per manufacturers direction. After two weeks the crabgrass showed signs of dying off. I continued to follow up as per instructions as need. I am into the third year of "renovating" her lawn. I find, in this area you have to put down 2 applications of pre emergent crabgrass killer. One early, and one later in the spring. I still get a little crabgrass but ...

Doesen't work

After two applications the crabgrass in my yard is still growing, no browning, no wilting, Nothing! How do I get my money back?

Waste of money

Used it in 2013 season and it did not work. Gave it a second chance this season and same results. There will not be a third time.

Didn't work for me

Bought this product because it said it was specifically made for fescue, among others. Applied it as per the directions, if not a little more liberally than instructed, and saw no noticeable difference. Crabgrass is still present, as well as the large leaved plants I was hoping to get rid of.

WORKS OK ................ BUT!!!

Its kill the Crabgrass after 2nd use. Won't kill all the roots. After recent raining the crabgrass start coming back.

Terrific Product

I had a fair amount of crabgrass and used this product a couple of weeks ago...the crabgrass is gone! Completely! Also kills other weeds and doesn't harm the grass. It worked very well! You do have to be careful in estimating how much to buy however. The product is very easy to apply but doesn't seem to give the coverage the label states. But...it was great!
