Ratings & Reviews for Backyard Discovery Trenton 12-ft W x 16-ft L x 7-ft 6-in H Black Metal Freestanding Pergola with Canopy

Great looking pergola (excpt the sail shade strap)

I bought this a few months ago and love the look and quality of the pergola. But I hate the straps on the soft canopy.. it keeps coming off due to winds.

Perfect fit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was perfect for our backyard! Fits the modern feel we are going for and fits perfectly over our jacuzzi!

Takes a long time to put together

Took 3 of us 3 days to complete. 18-20 hours. Very good quality parts. Pretty good directions. Apparently the directions can be for 4 different models so a little confusing at times but we figured it out. The video instructions on the BUILT app were not that great. Used the paper instructions after step 2. All in all a great purchase. Looks like it will be maintenance free like stated. It is just beautiful and I’m very happy with how it turned out.

Height issue but still great.

Only reason why I shorted it a star is because of the height. It needs to be another foot taller. Ours wouldn’t clear our hot tub lid. So I had to improvise and put it up on blocks and anchor and then put landscaping bricks around each pillar a ways up just to make it look good. That was the only difference between the 4 star and 5 star. Other wise this is great quality. Great build. Looks amazing.

Amazing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pergola looks modern, we love it

Excellent buy!

Best purchase decision. The only complaint i would have is the limited communication when it came to setting up delivery. Fortunately, i was home or they would have just left it in front of my garage where anything could have happened to it.

Beautiful!

FYI it’s heavy once assembled! Be sure you like the placement before finalizing the assembly. We are obsessed with this pergola and provides amazing shade in our yard!

Perfect product! Very well made and easy to install

Love The Pergola

Very easy to put up. I had a friend help me.

Perfect Patio Addition

Minimalist look fits the patio perfectly and does not take away from our expansive views. Heavy duty materials and should stand up to our windiest days. Looks great!

Our new room!

Overall very satisfied. Clear instructions, solid materials, good fit . Seems like it could last for quite awhile. Shipping was ok.

Feels Like a Resort

We searched a long time for the right pergola and finally found it! The 14 x 10 Wyndham has transformed our exposed deck into a private and cozy oasis. We no longer have to hide from the sun or our neighbors. This pergola shields us from the hot sun during the day, but still let’s us see the moon and the stars at night. We added outdoor curtains to allow some much needed privacy from our neighbors and the main road. Our investment converted a barely used space into our favorite place to gath...

Worth it!

It’s well-made and looks great. Added outdoor string lights since it has an electrical box which looks great. We also added a fan for additional comfort. The only downside is the cover doesn’t fit all the way to the edges.

LOVE IT!

We ordered two of the steel pergolas for our large aluminum deck which faces the west. They were pretty easy to assemble and appear to be made of quality materials. My only complaints are that we were short a few washers, and one of the fabric shades covers is around 6” shorter on each side than the other. After attaching roll up shades in a few places to protect from the evening sun, our deck is now useable all day long. It has become an oasis and my favorite place to hang out.

I hope they come up with a solid top to add on

Extremely easy to build, although the rafters are a little monotonous. I had a custom install. I hope they come up with a solid top option.

A little difficult to install, but the outcome is

Very sturdy, a great addition to our backyard.

easier to assemble than expected

I watched the Bilt steps a couple times before the actual install effort. It estimated 3 people at 10 hours. Not sure where that came from as it took 3 of us about 4 hours to complete. My guess is maybe if you did all the bolts by hand versus a power tool. Having 3 people with 3 power tools made it go pretty quick. We also carefully inventories and staged all the materials near the install site. Instructions were pretty easy to follow. We only ran into one issue were we assembled the corner brac...

Great Pergola

The parts were labeled and packaged very nicely. My husband and I assembled it together. It did take 2 days as we laid everything out and labeled it. The pergola is very sturdy and well made. It’s very clean looking and offers great shade. The customer service is outstanding as they followed up to make sure all was well. We highly recommend this pergola and backyard discovery!

Looks like part of the house!

We LOVE how it looks and so does the neighborhood. It has completely transformed our patio into a very comfortable place hang outdoors! We highly recommend this Pergola!
