Family Fun - From Construction to Use!

It can seem a little intimidating to build this yourself, but the packaging and instructions are very simple. No one in our family has construction experience, just Grandma/Pappa, Mom and Dad with anxious little ones eagerly awaiting lots of play time. The anchors have held the playset securely in 50-70 MPH gusts!

Great Playset for granddaughter!

This Playset took a while to put together but my husband was very impressed with the detail of the instructions. He had no problems putting it together but you have to pay attention to the instructions. The tube slide was not hard to assemble but sometimes awkward and took him about 4 hours. The crows nest is tight to get into but our 6 year old granddaughter loves it.

Hire professional assembly

The swing set is made with good quality materials but it is a beast to assemble yourself. It took 2-4 people about 20 hours total time to erect and we have the tools and experience of professional construction crew in the family. Can’t imagine the “average joe” dad trying to put this together.

Excellent addition, though some extra work needed

First off, the kids love it. Overall construction was easy, the manual stated 23 hours for 2 people. It took 8 hours with 2 people and about 10 with only me. There were a few steps that should've been moved earlier in the manual (i.e. boards going between other parts that were connected previously, this required loosening the earlier parts to fit the later part in snuggly). I did have to trim one of the roof boards, because it was assembled half an inch off. Only half the floor board holes lined...

Good swingset - read review for assembly tips!

Fairly easy to assemble but time consuming. Here are a few tips to make things easier. 1. Delivery comes in 6 pieces - 4 long/heavy boxes, one large square box (tube slide) and the wavy slide (in plastic bag). Sort all the wood first! I sorted by part numbers/letter (ie., G38, F45 etc). The numbers are stamped in black ink before the wood stain is applied and are hard to read. Amazing Playset

I bought this playset for my two little boys. One is 2 years old and one is 7 months. Constructing it took a bit of time. It’s definitely a two person job at a minimum. My dad helped who is very familiar with building and construction. It took us around 30 hours to get it all together. Definitely a labor of love but so worth it. My 2 year old loves it. Daughter loves it

So far (2 months in) I am happy with it. Some of the larger 4x4 posts are cracking however and has me a bit concerned on long term durability. Assembly was fine, was able to do it 100% solo with help of the BILT app.

Fun Playset, delayed assembly

Overall the playset itself met most of our expectations. Delivery was as described and arrived in a timely manner. No parts were missing or broken which we were happy about. We’d paid for assembly, which ended up being a pain. It took over a week after delivery before we even received an estimated assembly date. Once we finally got a date, it was 4 weeks out. Great set

Some of the boards where hard to identify but everything was there and extra hard ware was sent which was nice. Took a full weekend to put up but was very pleased with the final result.

Holy Wowzers!

Took about a month for shipping and cost almost what I paid for it to have a contractor put it together over three entire days, but I have to say- totally worth it seeing my little boy’s face when he saw it the first time. He calls it “our house” and I have to admit, it is pretty impressive. Not the base metal swing set I had growing up that’s for sure. Looks great, lots of play areas

We bought this a month ago, took three weekends to build. We had to rebuild the brace for the circular slide because it didn’t fit right. The boys love it, especially the lookout. It was a great price for being so large. The maintenance seems a lot just to keep the warranty, ie monthly and annual maintenance requirements. You’ll need to be handy to build yourself. We’re very happy with it!

Unnecessarily difficult playset, poor quality woo.

As a former lead technician for a reputable playground company in the N.E. Ohio region, I have assembled countless playsets, from many manufacturers. Now as an independent contractor I have found, without exception, "Backyard Discovery Sky fort w/ tubeslide" is the most poorly engineered set I've ever done. We are so happy with our purchase of this playground for our 3 year old! We cannot wait to watch him grow into it and love it for the next several years. Shipping was quick. Pieces were clearly labeled and not a single one was damaged. Instructions were extremely clear and easy to follow - just takes a good amount of time to build!
