Would RecommendWe bought one of these perhaps 20 years ago, before the company was acquired by its present owner, and finally had to replace it due to the door hinge rivets rusting out. It survived at least one baseball bat attack (a small dent in the top, and I suspect it hurt the attacker more than the box), but was otherwise in good shape until now. I’m happy to say that the new mailbox looks to be of the same degree of sturdiness. They moved the mounting holes, so be prepared to drill if you’re replacin...

Would RecommendThe product is great but at my local Lowe's store, they had a demo one and that showed different dimensions than what arrived. I verified it was the EXACT same Model & Item numbers. The one I received was about an inch each way shorter.
Not very good at keeping the weather out.
Would Not RecommendOverall quality of box is good. Only complaint is that it does not keep the weather out very good. Had a hard rainstorm recently with high winds and the mail in the box was soaked. Yesterday we received a snowstorm with high winds and the inside of the box was full of snow. For the price, one would think that it would do a better job of protecting the insides.

Would Not RecommendThe door did not fit properly and was rubbing the side of the unit when closing. The back corner of the box also was bent slightly, but it did not interfere with the installation. The paint had also chipped off of the back corner of the box.

Would Not Recommendhad one of these for 10-15 yrs and loved it. in 40yrs it was far and away the longest lasting mailbox we have had. Alas, over a decade of road salt caused fatal corrosion to the hinge and led to the demise of our roadside friend. i ventured out to Lowes to replace it, and to my delight, the same exact model was on display, and there was 1 left! when i got home and opened the box, i discovered this was not the mailbox i was looking for. ...
