Great BackUPS

Would Recommend

My go to solution for BackUPS and protection. The unit has never let me down. It has even lasted beyond the stated years on the backup battery.

Works fine but labels on unit are unreadable

Would Recommend

This is a fine unit that does what it is supposed to. I am giving it 2 stars to get someone's attention in the industrial design department of the company that makes it. I had an older unit essentially the same as this 550 UPS. It had large white markings on the (black) unit indicating the different outlets, the meaning of the warning LEDs, and (in the back) the in/out jacks to protect phone/ethernet lines. The new unit has these markings in a fairly small size in gray(!) on black. These are onl...

Great backup power surge protection

Would Recommend

Just replaced two 11 year old batteries. They were still working but I decided it was time to replace.

Good Unit For Small Office Deployment

Would Recommend

This is a good solution for a small office deployment. Plenty of receptacles for a basic workstation. Not quite as bulky as units that will provide similar run time. Cord could be a bit longer.

Costly Battery Replacement

Would Not Recommend

I merely needed a replacement battery for an existing backup. Your ordering info was unclear what I was buying.

Works great. Smaller Footprint.

Would Recommend

These are a staple of small offices and home offices. Less juice than the 600-900 versions but still more than sufficient for basic office needs. Highly recommend these for anyone looking for a small and affordable UPS solution.

Solving the Plug Spacing Problem

Would Recommend

Peripherals that connect to the unit via a brick or oversized plug certainly do hog the adjacent receptacles. I solve the problem with 10" heavy duty (10 gauge) mini extension cords from Amazon. This way I can get those piggy plugs and bricks out of the way. The 10 gauge wire is plenty big to insure no problems.

Simple, Easy, Necessary!

Would Recommend

These are some of the best UPS's for your money. Super easy to install and use. We use them for our customers and internally for our essential workstations like our 24/7 service desk. We had a power surge just last month that knocked out power to half the building. The computers with this UPS were not affected by the surge and stayed powered without interruption as we needed them to. I highly recommend the Back-UPS 550. They're more than affordable and can protect highly valued assets.

XBOX One savior

Would Recommend

Recently connected our XBOX & TV to this battery backup. We don't get many power outages, but we did experience a few during Christmas break. It seems to have save a few XBOX games and, with that, many headaches for mom and dad.

Replacemment Battery

Would Not Recommend

The battery had no markings that would enable me to find a replacement on the APC site. Lead Acid Batteries vary according to the ratings. The UPS ES 550 did not have any specifications for the battery. This site is not consumer friendly.
