I am currently raising a sagging floor due to water damaged floor joists. Set-up was easy and I am about 1/2 way through the actual adjustment. 1/2 turn each week. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the boxes appeared to have been on the shelf for quite a while. While the small parts were in a sealed bag that with lubrication, the posts themselves had some rust along the side. 2 of the nuts screwed on by hand pretty easily, the other 2 did not.

Pay more and hopefully get a better product

I bought this and it's installed, but I certainly would not have picked this out in the store if I had seen the materials used for the header and footer. Really cheap, thin metal -- maybe??? a 1/4-inch thick? -- maybe less. The post itself is fine and sturdy, but I can't say much for header/footer.

Ends not square

I had to dress up the ends which would not seat flat out of the box. Ends were bumpy. Still worked fine.

Does the job!

Used these to reinforce a 100 year old home which we acquired. Simple and economical. Does exactly what it’s supposed to do!

Does the Job, but Flimsy

I bought this model because it's adjustable. The part that houses the screw sits loosely on the top half of the pole, and isn't very stable until it's tightened fairly snugly against the object you need to support. The bottom half of the pole sits on a loose plate. I've rented and used other post jacks, all were built much sturdier. I'd only recommend this for a one-time use, unless you have a welder and can secure the top and bottom pieces to the posts.

IF YOU NEED A PICK UP THEN THESE POSTS ARE GREAT. EASY TO ASSEMBLE AND TO CHANGE HEIGHT!

Good Product

Product workes as expected. I installed it in my basement to support some sagging floor joists. I installed this with the adjustment serew towards the top.

jack post

allot of people use these for permanent use. I would advise the solid post for that, however, for a quick fix or temporary support these are perfect.

Held a cracked floor joist up during repair - excellent. I did not try to jack with this but used it to hold only after jacking. May have been usable as a screw jack but I'll never know. Held well for the days needed and is robust enough to use as a permanent post to take the curse out of a warped and sagging floor if that's what you need.
