I bought one of these from Lowes. When I put batteries in it and placed the outdoor unit outside, it was reading like 30 degrees above the real temperature. I decided to take it apart and find out why. When I took apart the main unit, I noticed a small rubber nipple sitting on top of the sensor. I removed the nipple and low and behold it starting working right. I think someone at the manufacturing plant is neglecting to remove this when they do assembly. Would RecommendMoved into a new house recently and became obsessive as to how warm it stayed in the sheetrocked garage. In comes this bad boy. Its a great way to monitor the temp instead of checking the mercury thermometer i have hanging out there too...(altho I will admit i do sometimes compare the temps.) I just hung the sensor in the garage and have the receiver inside and can now see in a glance! Very handy and I highly recommend.

Would Not RecommendOutside temperature was stuck on 27 degrees and wouldn’t change from that number no matter how often I took out the batteries to reset the device. Many people had similar issues according to reviews. Junk that is now in the trash.
