SLIGHT BUYERS' REMORSE - SOUND LEVEL

The microwave heats food well. It does its job, with one flaw. That is the sound. The tones when buttons are pressed and the cook cycle ends are VERY quiet. In fact, I cannot hear it when the timer is done. Granted, I have slight hearing loss and tinnitus, and the pitch and sound level are completely inaudible. However, my wife and son both have excellent hearing. They both say they can hear the tones, but also say they are extremely soft (quiet). I have checked and rechecked under the settings ...

The installation was excellent. The fan noise from this unit is horrific! I have never experienced a microwave that is so loud. It is highly possible that we will be returning this product as the noise during use is intolerable. Heating/cooking anything longer than 3 minutes will make you want to stop using it. Extremely disappointed with this product, deserves a zero rating.

Great microwave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We loved our old 9 Year old Whirlpool Microwave. This one, they switched the start and cancel buttons. You also need to press "COOK" before you enter your time. Very annoying. The turntable is also smaller. That said, we love the easy to clean interior.

I like the Whirlpool, but there were a few missing features that I had on my previous Microwave, such as Auto Nightlight scheduling, more Express buttons and did not have to cancel after each use. It works as it should and gets the job done.

This model lasts a LONG TIME….

This unit replaced the exact same 26 year old one I had in my house when it was built. What DID I like about the old one is it lasted a VERY long time, and put up with abuse from a family of 3 boys! My expectation is this unit will perform equally as well as the old one. Whirlpool did fix three issues I had with the old model, that being ease of cleaning the inside, and easy of cleaning the control panel on the outside, and the unit is MUCH more quiet.
