Hardly anything lasts forever. My old Weller finally gave up. It was 25 years old. Needless to say, my replacement had to be a Weller. Good price for a super product. Lowes had a better price than "The A folks'".

Lasted only 3 months

I didn't mind that the tip broke within the first month, but then the switch shorted after 3 months. The last Weller Soldering Gun I owned lasted 40+ years.

One hand operation of soldering gun gets easier.

When the trigger is pulled, work space is lit up. Not as heavy as models past. Practice positioning gun in work space before pressing the trigger. Deliver the hottest soldering gun tip to the work piece in as little amount of time as possible to minimize heat affecting adjacent work areas(heat creep) and possibly damaging it.

Fast Soldering Iron

I have a lower wattage iron I've had for years. But on a long extension cord it just didn't get hot enough to melt the solder on the jobs I was working on. I tried a variety of butane options but either their tips didn't get hot enough and took all day to melt the solder, or the torch even at the lowest setting melted all of the wire insulation in the vicinity of the joint. I really didn't want to spend this much for a soldering iron, but wow was it worth it! This thing solders fast.

Satisfied

Gets hot quickly. Two trigger setting were crisp and easy to distinguish between the two. Case's plastic window is cheaply made but still functions.

Helpmate

My husband bought it and almost immediately had to use it repairing chewed wires.

Soldering gun?

I bought this gun and it failed after about three sessions of soldering so I returned it and got a new one. Hope the new one works better or at least longer.

The cord is as stiff as hard plastic, the tips are too thin and cheep and burn up fast. The gun itself seems ok.

Soldering kit

Liked that it came in a case so everything can be found together. Unfortunately this did not work for the intended project, however, we were able to return to Lowe's and find one that worked for us. Kudos to Lowe's for offering the selections/ solutions that it does.

Every thing you need, and has enough power!

I bought this soldering gun and accessories to install some space heaters that I wanted to hardwire. The Weller gun Worked well, and, while not high powered, it had enough wattage and heat to evenly solder the copper stranded # 14 ga. wire I was using.... Good investment!
