Nice Parts, Worth Fixing

I had a hard time getting the old one off. Ended up using Dremel tool with a cut off wheel. Putting the new one on was a snap, with directions and diagrams that were intuitive. I was very glad I could get this part, as without it I was using way too much charcoal. Now that I can close off the air again, charcoal usage is back under control. Nice part, good directions, worth the money.

Works with ash catcher models

My grill serial number is AH (It's stamped into the dome aluminum vent) with an ash catcher. Received it with #s 1, 2, and 3 wings and all other hardware and instructions. Old hardware was rusted and the handle had broken off. Simple matter to remove some of the rust around the hole on the outside of the kettle, then turn the bbq upright, slide a screwdriver under the hardware inside the kettle, and pop it off. Cleaner Fit 30 Year Old Grill Perfectly.

I have a 2004 Performer, so I’m always careful to ensure the parts fit. After 30 years, it’s comforting to know obtaining parts is not a problem. (I’ve had 5 other Weber grills in the meantime.) The cleaner fit perfectly, as have others in the past. Weber is quality and dependability to me.

Improved design

Easy to install. New design uses just the handle to retain the assembly which improves upon older versions which are difficult to remove if the hardware rusted. Replacing this and the grates will keep your kettle running for decades.

great replacement part!

I was excited to find that this was even available! I've had this grill for a while, and had just resigned myself to the old ones that were bent way out of shape. The rest of the grill is still fine, so it's great that a part like this could be obtained! It's a little awkward to replace it, but I was expecting that.

Fantastic piece of engineering design. Huge improvement on earlier version in both use and installation.

Watch out for the washer!

I have replaced these parts several times over the years and it has always been really straightforward but this time there was a slight problem with the "H" washer; the center lug was too long and I had to to shorten it before the washer could be fitted on the blade assembly. Apart from this little complication everything else worked well and the grill is up and running again.

Direct replacement

Perfect replacement. Old one was rusted and wouldn't rotate freely. It did require a Dremel to remove the old one as the parts were rusted together.

Replacement kit did not exactly fit my grill

The bottom spacer did not work for my grill. The bracket that supports the ash catcher would not allow the bottom spacer to be used. My 22” grill has the cart with charcoal bin and propane charcoal starter in it.

Easy to install if you can turn your grill on its

You will have to put your grill on its side to do it. Otherwise, your neighbors may not appreciate the loud swearing. I expect this new part to last 2 years, like the old one.
