Covered paneling and allowed for one coat of paint, worked better than expected.

Wonderful product!

I had painted our bathroom using a satin 'kitchen and bath' paint a few years back, and when I tried to paint it recently, the paint just didn't adhere properly. The Lowes saleswoman suggested this bonding primer, and it worked like a charm! So easy - just rolled on, let dry, and the new paint went on perfectly. This product is a 'hidden' gem!

Good Coverage

This primer is amazing on prefinished surfaces... You don't have to scuff it up, just paint it on and it works. My wife LOVES it, no more laborious sanding to get something ready to paint.

Did not adhere

I put it on a door which I believe had poly top coat. It peeled off in sheets— zero adhesion. I then had to sand entire door. Adhesion is notes to adhere to glossy surface—- not really

Bestvprimer

I have used different products but this is by far the best coverage primer on the market.

Great primer

We decided to paint our plain fiberglass garage door. This was the perfect base primer. Easy to use and paint adheres great.

It’s okay

We have oil stained walls we were painting over, Lowe’s employee told me this would do the trick.... only to find out 4 COATS later it would finally cover, which was shocking seeing this was more expensive then the actual paint.

I was priming and painting unfinished cabinets. This was a product that was recommended by a representative at the Lowe's store and he was very descriptive about the product and how to use it. It works very well n binding the paint to the cabinets and after all was done I also found that they are real easy to clean without any chipping, fading or dripping. Also used on exterior painting touching up on trim and we have had a few rains since that time and again it held up. WOuld definitely rec...

Excellent hide, and stick but poor flow & level

For the extra money I had high expectations around stick. hide, and coverage. This is really thick paint so hide was excellent even applied untinted over very dark brown. The stick was good it was applied to a highly gloss surface but the level was nonexistent. There was zero movement of the paint after application. Every brush stroke was visible even the tinniest roller defect stayed visible. So, now I will find out if the surface is sandable as advertised. I will look for another product...

Didn't Work

Used this product to bond new paint to old trim. Followed all the directions, and in the end, I was able to peel the stuff right off with a finger nail. Will not be using this junk again. Don't waste your time or money.

horrible adhesion

absolutely horrible adhesion. Sanded original surface before applying this primer. In spots it will just peel right back off. I will have to sand back down to original on 2 different doors and casings. I bought this in a weekend when the local benjamin moore store was closed. Never again. I just won’t paint if valspar is all thats available at the time.
