Front Porch Timer

We wanted a timer for the front porch and installing this for the switch was perfect. It is nice to have the lights on when we want them. Easy to install and easy to program.

Economical digital timer

Good value for the price if you follow the step by step instructions. Works well, just set it and forget it. Easy to adjust time for daylight savings.

Better than a light switch!

If you have lights or something that you turn on every day and turn off every day such as exterior lights; then this is an easy solution. Just program when you want the lights to come on and when to turn them off. If needed, you can have 7 unique settings for each day, as well as different settings for the weekends vs weekdays. If you don't want to have to program at all and leave it to the switch, then get their next model up with a Astronomical setting that figures everything out for you based...

cheap effective lighting control

Forget turn your lights on and off outside. Set this time at once and your lights will come on and off automatically. Great way to keep your home safe when you are home or away.

Hard to deal with if you are a boomer, that can't see to good but it works well.

Programming not that simple

The device is more complex than need be. Considerable advertised function but too difficult to get to work. Took it back.

This was a straight forward hook up with simple programming. Perfect for my application.

I have three switches in a box at my front door. I wanted to put the timer on the outside light switch. Good luck installing this puppy without a degree in electrical engineering, or a brother in law who is a (good) electrician. The instructions are horrible, and the online resources not much better. I ended up returning it and getting a different brand.

Works fine

I used the push in connectors on the back so can't comment on the side screws. Easy enough to install, easy programming. I used set times and not the dusk/Dawn option. My only complaint is that it can't be used with any wall plates but the one provided in the package. I will probably modify a decorative one to fit but if you aren't handy then that's not an option. Overall good product.

Worked fine for a while

Didn't even last 6 months. I bought two - the first one is still working, but the other one died tonight. They work fine, when they work, but based on my experience, and the number of people who got defective ones right out of the box, it is apparent that quality control is either lacking or non-existent at Utilitech.

Not worth it.

Can’t turn on and off manually whenever we want once timer is set.

Great Product, great value

I purchased this timer initially because the price was good. What I found after the purchase was that this timer was easy to install and set up. It even comes with the trim cover--unlike somebody the more expensive timers.

Love the product have had to replace

I love this product I believe there is 2 versions one that will come on at sunset off at sunrise and one that is only by time. I have had Both of them they seem to fail after about 2yrs which I hate but the product works to the point that I will just replace when it fails. Programming is semi intuitive but can be painfull at first.

Simple to install and program

I bought this to replace an old analog timer that had gone bad. It was simple to install and in comparison of some of the timers I have purchased recently this unit was simple to program. The display is small but functional.
