Would Not RecommendI bought these rocks because I need darker, natural looking lava rock like the ones pictured on the bag but these are red like the rocks you can get for half the price anywhere else.
Beware
Would Not RecommendI had seen another review where one of the rocks ad "popped" out of the fire. I thought that must have been a rare occurrence. Well, we also had one pop/explode and it shot about six feet from the fire pit. Fortunately no one as very close and we were able to locate it in the grass before someone with bare feet stepped on it. I'm not sure if this happens with the product in general or just t his brand. Be aware and prepared if you use it.

Not uniform pieces
Actually was expecting uniform pieces such as hexagon shape that would cover the grate uniformly.

rock touch up
Would RecommendNice addition to our gravel/stone parking area. Matches the stone we have down. Much better than what we purchased to fill in before. Will probably get a few more bags as I see where I need more.

Lava rocks
Would RecommendYou have to buy 2 bags when you only need a bag and a half for the fire pit.
These Rocks Explode when exposed to Heat
Would Not RecommendWe bought 1 bag to add to the propane firepit we bought at Lowes last year. About 5 minutes after we added them and turned the fire on they started exploding. It sounded like fireworks. My brother in law got hit in the forehead and bled. It took 5 minutes after we turned the fire off before they stopped exploding. We took them all out, turned the fire back on and issue resolved. These rocks are horrible and I wouldn't recommend them for landscaping!

Do not buy this product
Would Not RecommendIt's rare that I give a totally bad rating to a product, but this is an exception. Your experience may vary, and it's almost always the case that even the best product gets an occasional bad review. However if you do get a better bag, it would be an accident. It comes in an opaque bag so you can't see what you are getting. I bought a replacement "universal" rock grate for my gas grill and found that there were some places where even some of the pretty good-sized rocks were apt to fall through. ...
