Would Not RecommendThe fact that Lowe's is still selling this product is astonishing! There are some harder non lava rocks mixed in that explode when heated! I came to the Lowe's website to find the manufacturer so I could let them know of this hazard. The fact that there are so many reviews that describe the same experience leads one to believe that Lowe's doesn't care. It would be unfortunate if someone was seriously hurt. Would RecommendI liked the lava rocks for they added to my portable fire pit. After reviewing the reviews i inspected the rock prior to putting them in the pit. I did notice a few were harder then the others so elected to not use those. As other reviewers said they popped. I did try the one i choose in the pit and they worked out well. Color and deceiving
Would Not RecommendI bought few bags for a gas fire pit. They were delivered in a cardboard box that was completely damaged. Half of the bags inside were not properly sealed, so stone powder was seeping out of the box everywhere. The Rick's have very random sizes, which would not work in a gas fire pit unless you break them in smaller pieces, and the color is red, not grey as the bag picture suggest. I returned everything and will keep looking
