The product appears to be generally effective at preventing crabgrass and other weed growth when applied at the right time, typically in early spring. Many users report successful weed control, though some had mixed or negative experiences, with proper application and timing being critical for optimal results. The large bag size and affordable price are cited as benefits.

I usually use pendimethalin for fall Poa Annua control in St. Augustine but, specifically Barricade. My local farm supply decided not to carry it this past fall so I tried this. I've never had so much Poa Annua as I did this year. Seems to have suppressed other cool season weeds but Poa Annua control was non-existence. I've had good luck with it as a spring application preemergant but won't use again for Poa Annua in late fall for late winter weed control.
More Weeds Than Ever
Would Not RecommendI used this exactly as directed (even measured soil temp.) last fall and I had MORE WEEDS THAN I HAVE EVER HAD BEFORE!! My Brother, who lives in Alabama used it too and had more weeds too. I live in Georgia. Wish I could give it 0 stars. A big waste of my time putting it out and money to buy it. And my yard is full of weeds.
It works great.
Would RecommendI put it down Sunday and it rained Tuesday, which activated the weed killer. Wednesday morning the weeds were turning yellow and dying. It not designed to kill all types of weeds. I have to use Sunniland other weed killer for those, but this one works great for the weeds it's designed to kill. Just remember it needs to be watered within a couple of days to activate the weed killing chemical so it can do its job.
Good Quality Fertilizer
Would RecommendThis the second year I have used this fertilizer as a Pre-Emergent. It worked good last year and I expect the same this year. It also sells at a fair price.
Pre-emergent
Would RecommendThe pre-emergent has been down now for 2 weeks. Won't be able to tell if it worked until this Spring.
active ingredient is dithiopyr
Would RecommendIt's not at all clear from the product description, but the active ingredient in this stuff is Dithiopyr 0.172%. I was a bit confused because it pops up in a search for Prodiamine on the Lowes website, but it definitely doesn't have Prodiamine in it.
So far so good.
Would RecommendWeeds are struggling to come out that's for sure while my next door neighbors' yards weeds have taken over. My St. Augustine seem happier than ever - it's spreading everywhere now. Too bad Lowe's does not sell it in South Florida.
Somewhat Effective
Would RecommendThis is well priced but not totally effective on broadleaf weeds. We applied 2 weeks ago and some weeds are shriveling up but certain types seem totally unaffected. I don’t know how well if will prevent annual blue grass seed from germinating; our neighbor has a slew of it in his yard and we hand pick it out of our adjacent Bermuda lawn whenever we see it but only time will tell how much of that we will have to do later on in the season.

Great for preventing germination of Crabgrass
Would RecommendA lot, of people are not educated on this product, but it is used to prevent crabgrass growth and some broad leaf. The main focus is to really prevent the crabgrass growth because that's the main suppressant ingredient and everything else is a bonus if it prevents growth of other weeds. I will suggest to use product and compare it to last season growth of crabgrass if its much less its working. Love this product for its price point!! Suggest if looking to kill POA annua in the winter use Image b...
Absolute useless
Would Not RecommendAfter applying the recommended amount on my bermuda lawn, it promoted weeds to grow and a lot of clover. It did prevent the crab-grass but encourage a lot of clover in already established turf. This has ruined my lawn and pay the extra $5 and go with Lesco's 0-0-7.
Not effective on poa annua
Would Not RecommendApplied 5 bags in fall and early spring on 12,000 sft Bermuda lawnin Atlanta, which means i used more than twice of instructed amount. Now I see my light green yard with Poa Annua. I won’t use this product next year. Not for Georgia.
great stuff
Would Recommendused it first last year and it worked as good or better than the expensive same stuff
