What Customers Are Saying

Customers overwhelmingly praise the shingles' vibrant appearance, robust construction, and straightforward installation. Many highlight the attractive coloration, dual-layer ridge cap design, and premium finish that enhance curb appeal. Reviewers consistently describe them as heavy, well-made, and durable, with confidence they'll last decades. Installation is noted as forgiving and quick, with pre-perforated caps requiring only two nails. Some find warming the shingles improves flexibility. A small group reports difficulty separating adhesive-stuck shingles, and a few mention color misrepresentation. Despite minor issues, most consider the quality and performance worthwhile.

They were in great shape worked like they were supposed to. I even got them on sale because they were open packages.

Not Bad

Would Recommend

Very Durable. Once sealed these ridge caps are very resistant to high winds and heavy impact. Most of them made it through several hail storms with ping pong ball to softball sized hail with minimum damage.

Hard to work with.

I bought these by mistake thinking they were regular three tab shingles. Not so. These are extra heavy duty double layer shingles. Very expensive for only 20 foot of ridge coverage. The shingles won't bend unless you let then sit in the sun. However the day a used them it was cloudy and 75 degrees. So I actually had to use a heat gun to make the shingles soft enough to bend.

Miscommunication

Would Recommend

This product would have got 5 stars from me, but the company really is not communicating with the customers. When I first bought these shingles, I thought they were stuck together. I tried to separate them, but the adhesive was already activated. I thought the store held the shingles in high heat. Based on the ripped open packages at my local store, others have thought the same thing. Well, it turns out that this shingle is composed of 2 layers of shingle, permanently attached. Each 39inch p...

Perfect Match for Roof Shingles

Would Recommend

The 20 year old roof on my Michigan farmhouse was subject to some pretty harsh elements (75+ mph straight line winds, driving rain, ice dams, ...) and had developed some leaks that caused a bit of damage and had mold growth in a couple spots; it was time for the 3-tab shingles to go. While to roof was being replaced, I added snow-country ridge vent to improve ventilation in the attic. These are a perfect match to the upgraded architectural shingles used. They were easy to work with and look grea...

Works Great !

Would Recommend

Installed well. Had to use same shingle for roof caps because factory roof caps were glued together and could not be separated without tearing them. Still worked out well.

Shingles are nice

Would Recommend

This was the first time I have used these shingles. They are very user friendly. Easy to work with, and look great. Had just a small roof section to repair along with soffit and fascia. These shingles were very forgiving to me as a novice. Would definitely use again.

GAF Timerbline Ridge Cpas

Would Recommend

I used these with a purchase of the GAF Timberline Architectural shingles (Hickory). Forget trying to form ridge caps out of spare shingles due to their lamination. Does NOT work. These ridge caps were a perfect fit and easy to use. Already perforated to separate into three ridge caps, they break away easily. Better to install when warmed up a bit and follow the nailing instructions as printed. Final result was just plain BEAUTIFUL.

Hopelessly stuck together

Would Not Recommend

I had to abandon the thought of using these shingles. They were completely stuck together, and would rip with any attempt to separate them. Lowe's was quick to replace them with another brand when I returned them.

Linear measurement

Would Recommend

This is an excellent product. The only problem is the measurement listed on the packaging states this covers 20 L.F. At an 8" exposure, the actual coverage is more like 17.5'. Keep this in mind when purchasing to make sure you have enough product.

gaf timbertex hunter green shingles

Would Recommend

as a Union carpenter i've done many roofs both public and private. When it came to my own home i chose the GAF timbertex shingle. first thing you notice is the heft of the shingle, this is a nice thick shingle.. you will definitly need hook type blades to cut. the self seal backing removes easily by scraping with the edge of your knife. by following the directions on the package i was able to create a beautiful roof system on my house . not only have i improved the look of my house but i also a...
