Dusk to Dawn Photocell Eye - works perfectly

We use this with many of our exterior lights. More recently, we used this with the Gampak 5.5-in 2-Head LED White (metal) Switch-Controlled Flood Light 14782WH. It works perfectly together if you are looking for automatic dusk to dawn features on a light. I recommend both of these items for those who need exterior lighting.

Easy install

My outdoor LED light didn't have a sensor on it so I bought this one, was easy to install, and works great. Great price.

Installed with outside light I purchased. It turns light off and on very good and is very small.

Worked fine for me

Installed it yesterday and it works fine. If you hook the red to the line and the black to the load it will cycle, and I bet this is what the folks did who reported the product as defective. Black to incoming power, red to the light fixture {load}. This is the standard wiring plan for photocells. Works fine if installed correctly.

I replaced one just like this so I’m not sure how long it will last. Easy to install.

Waste of time

Junk, Turned on and off all day and all night - no matter where the eye was pointed. Returning for refund.

Great Product

I had to replace my dusk-to-dawn light in the backyard. I bought an identical one, but during installation, the body cracked, and Lowe's didn't have another in stock. I went to a competitor, and picked one up in the dusk-to-dawn section, but as I was installing the light, I discovered it was not a dusk-to-dawn. No good unless in a very sunny location

The spot light I'm using the sensor to control is shaded from the sun. The sensor turns on and off every ten seconds in the morning. Can't use it. Also the instructions on the package are wrong. They tell you to attach the black wire from the sensor to the power and red to the light. Didn't work at all that way. Switched red to power and black to light and then it worked.

Pure Junk

Maybe some people will think that a defective unit should not be used to judge a product's overall worth. But my "TORK" unit like this one kept going off and on in broad daylight every two minutes or so like and "Eat at Joe's" sign. It was mounted a little under the eaves and therefore it wasn't pointed directly upwards at the overhead sky. But it was pointed directly at the western sky on a bright and cloudless day. Do not buy

Purchased one for outdoor lighting. Light is under tree canopy so it is in the shade until early afternoon. Even though it was a sunny day except where photo eye is lights would come on and off until sun reached where photo eye. Should not allow light to come on in the daylight. I am returning. My advice is do not buy.

Works well in correct situation.

I used these on two external fittings. Care should be used however in the positioning of them. Mine are under a white car port and the roof reflected the light back to the switch, thus turning it off again. I got around this by using Utilitech 2-Pack 50 W Equivalent Dimmable Daylight PAR20 LED Light Fixture Light Bulbs PAR20F2-50 Item #: 777401 and making sure the bulbs pointed away from the switch enough.

Photo cell

I used this photocell to replace the photo cell on my dusk to dawn light. I don't like climbing a ladder to replace the OEM cell, so I wired around it and placed the cell on an outdoor electrical box located at the bottom of the pole. Easy to get at if it needs attention. First one lasted 3 years before it was accidentally broken.

Good option for mounting right on a weatherproof box or light fixture. Works well.

Great Item For Dusk to Dawn Lighting

Was able to convert regular outside on/off lighting to Dusk to Dawn lighting. Great for added security around your home.
