What Customers Are Saying
The Tomcat Kill & Contain Mouse Trap has had a mixed performance. The older version was praised as effective, easy to use, and providing a clean way to deal with mice. However, the newer redesigned version seems to have significant issues - many customers report that the mice are able to enter the trap, eat the bait, and exit without getting caught. The trigger mechanism also appears to be problematic, with many users unable to get the trap to set properly or trigger when a mouse enters. Several customers expressed disappointment with the new design, stating that the old version worked much better.

It kills mice, so that’s nice.
Would RecommendI like that it kills mice. Well. Technically mouse, since it’s a one-time use product. Works great, and I don’t have to deal with visible mouse carcasses scaring the children.

Expensive 1 time use
Would Not RecommendVery expensive for a one time use trap! You'd be better off buying a live catch trap between $8 - 30 that can be used over and over again indefinitely.
Worthless -- Does Nothing
Bought eight of these, baited and set six per instructions, deployed for a week -- nothing. I set out glue traps next to them and got four mice in two days in the glue traps.

IT WORKS!!!
I found mouse droppings in my kitchen drawer, so I set this trap and bated it with peanut butter. I placed it under my sink where I suspected the mouse got in. The next morning, the trap had caught a mouse. I have cats, so I didn't want to put out poison and I hate the spring traps because sometimes it would catch a mouse and it was till alive! I don't know how this trap kills the mouse, but it's nice to just be able to throw it away and not have to see it.

Hit and miss
Would Not RecommendI've had limited success with these traps. Seems like they often do not trip after a mouse enters. I do not recommend these. I've had MUCH better luck with the disposable Spinning type traps from a different manufacturer.

don't bother
I bought this a few days ago. I've tried everything to get this mouse to use this trap. He did use, he actually ate the trap. He went in and ate his way through. I guess I'll get one of those sticky mouse traps. This is ridiculous. What a terrible design. I wanted to add a picture but this website won't allow it. It says optional but I can't choose it. Bad product don't use them.

It didn't kill or contain!
Would Not RecommendIt appears that the mouse has visited the trap, as the food is gone. I have done this twice already and no deceased rodent. They do seem to like the food product, though! It does seem to be well made, just not effective.

Will not detect smaller mice
Would RecommendI bought the two pack as we had a mouse that wouldn't come out from under our washer dryer and it caught it overnight but the trigger said it wasn't set so I had to look inside to see it. same with the one I put in the garage It triggered to not set but if you look inside it was a smaller mouse that it caught will definitely repurchase
Waste of time & money
Would Not RecommendI don’t know how they’re allowed to continue to sell this trap knowing full well that it doesn’t work. Shame on you. Lowes, pull these. I purchased 3 packs and deployed in kitchen containing 2 mice. Followed directions- bait in back, no other food sources, etc. No mice after 1 week. On 8th day I deployed two snap traps in same room, had 2 captures within hours. The original design worked, don’t know what these guys did to screw it up but own up to your crummy design and stop ripping people off!

Please explain Dots btwn mouse caught and Not set
Would RecommendI bought four of these and one seems to have worked. It has those dots on indicator for which there is no explanation. So not sure if the pesky mouse got caught or not. Too scared to even check the weight and compare with an empty trap. The base of the trap is too light. Another such trap placed in another location was moved by the mouse. The one that i put inside the oven where the mouse resided got it. I want to believe the mouse was caught. Have not seen any activity after that.

Disposable Traps Do Not Trap Mice
This product does not work. I bought a package of 2 disposable mouse style traps 4 days ago, used the Tomcat Attraction Gel then set the lever, placed the traps along the baseboards of my lower level's family room. Had checked the mouse traps daily to see if the levers were triggered but the indicators showed the traps were still at the set position. So, out of curiosity I checked the bat trap doors yesterday only to find the Tomcat Attraction Gel was all gone! So, mice ate the gel but the ...
