Ratings & Reviews for SpeedOut 4 -Pack HSS Double-Ended 2-in Screw extractor set

What Customers Are Saying
Customers are divided on this screw extractor, with most praising its dual-function design for removing stripped screws quickly and cleanly on medium to large fasteners in softer materials. However, many report significant failures when tackling rusted, hardened, or stainless steel screws, with bits snapping or failing to grip properly. Success heavily depends on technique—users who followed instructions and used penetrating oil reported better results, while those applying excessive force or using impact drivers often experienced failure. Some question material quality, citing cheap carbon steel and durability concerns. Overall, most find it effective for suitable applications, though many remain frustrated by its unreliability on tougher fasteners.

Would RecommendI got a set of 3 types of SpeedOut Pro Extractors: Regular screw, Micro Screw, and Bolt extractors. I only used the regular and micro screw extractors for actual work, but have the Bolt extractors on hand "just in case". I have to say that these are indeed pretty high quality and work fine with my Ryobi drill. It latches on with ease (screw on reverse, forward extract). Very easy to use and gets the job done when you have something stuck.
Removing Stripped Screws is Fun Now
Would RecommendBy far the best and most convenient stripped screw removal tool on the market. The double sided bit makes for quick extraction without have to search for multiple bits.

Worked
Would RecommendI used this to extract a stripped torx screw from a bike frame. Took just a matter of seconds and worked flawlessly. I didn't even use a drill, just a 1/4" ratchet because of space constraints.
Works, but you need your own drill bits
Would RecommendThis kit has 4 double ended tools. One end has a reverse drill bit and the other has a reverse spiral which is driven into the drilled hole to remove the screw. Unfortunately, the drill bit ends are not very sharp and cannot clear the drilled material. I tried the #1 tool on #6 screws and the bit did nothing. It worked slightly when sharpened, but became plugged to fast it could not drill a hole. Using a 1/8" drill bit worked great and the spiral end had no problem getting the screws out. The ...
It didn't tap my test screw.
Would Not RecommendI got this set to help me when I accidentally strip a screw while woodworking. I like the packaging. I also like the apparent strength of the bits. The directions included were clear and succinct. I didn't have a stripped screw to use to test it with, so I set a standard wood screw in a pine 2x4. Unfortunate, none of thebits were able to tap the screw, therefore it was not extracted.
Drill end not so good, extraction end works well.
Would RecommendI tried this product on a door hinge screw. The drill end had a hard time trying to drill the screw. I did use the correct direction and it drilled a bit but never enough. I then switched to a regular drill and and that worked fine. I then used the extraction end and that worked fine.
Easy all in one stripped screw extractor.
Would RecommendThese speed out screw extractor worked well. I installed a four-inch screw into a 2x4 and rounded the head out. Using the screw extractor was quick and easy. Used the drill side of the extractor, then flipped it over and used the extractor. The long screw came right out.
Simply easy to use and do the job
Would RecommendWhile I have had many of these over the years there's nothing fancy about these but they just flat do the job saves you in a pinch when you're trying to remove something without damaging what you're working with
New packaging, same great tools
Would RecommendI had an older set, on the left in the pictures. The new set says they are M2 Tool Steel. They weigh the same gram for gram as my old set. Some bits do not fit in my impact driver, so I had to switch to a drill in my demo video. The new packaging does not have the quick info card anymore. After having to switch bits a couple times to find the right size needed. Moved to smaller cutter, then larger extractor. Have used on several car repairs and I swear by these.

Get those stripped screws out with this
Would RecommendEasily attachable to the drills we have and easy to use. It does take a little more effort to apply pressure to get the stripped screw out but works very well.
Last Resort
Would RecommendThis review is for the Speed Out brand of extractors. Specifically, the flip style screw extractors in sizes 1,2,3 & 4 with the pilot hole bit on one side and the extraction bit on the other. The screw extractors are made of steel. The drill portion of the tool is ok but not nearly as effective as a new drill bit. Each side is used in reverse drill operation and works best when used at slow speeds. I found that higher speeds tend to ruin the knurled end and lose grip easily when the extraction s...
Works
Would RecommendGot these to remove stripped screws out because it’s basically the only way to remove a bad screw without damaging anything. Had a different brand before and misplaced them. I got this one and it worked pretty good. Fits good with an impact with no issues. Got to bore out a hole on top of the screw with no issues and remove easily. Overall this is a good bit to have in your toolbag.
Very Happy With Using the Speedout Screw Extractor
Would RecommendI received the Speedout Screw Extractor on 10-18-25. I already knew the exact screw that I needed to use it on. The packaging says the Extractor does the job "in only takes 10 minutes." Well it took me a little bit longer. BUT IT WORKED I'm happy to say. Screw is in the trash and that completes the project.
Works fine.
Would RecommendWorked as it should. Drilled it out and the other end of the bit is the extractor that removes the screw. Different sizes to choose from. Nice little case included.
SpeedOut Bolt/Screw Extractor
Would RecommendHandy tool for every tool box. Extractors are packaged in a plastic snap shut holder which helps keep these organized in your toolbox. Instructions are straightforward. All screw extractors work on same principle. If the screw is rusted you might want to use a penetrating oil prior to help extraction process. The extractors are for screw sizes #4 to #24. Will work with any type of 3/8” variable speed, reversible drill. If screw is made of stainless steel avoid heating as this will harden the scr...
Large screw extractor
Would RecommendThe damaged screw extractor is a great accessory to have. This product works great and is very easy to use. They seem very durable and have a nice carrying case.
When you strip out a screw these sets work
Would RecommendHandy to have the full set of 3 different sizes. You never know when you'll need them. They do work but instructions are a bit confusing. The packaging looks good, but i recommend they put the instructions in the plastic black box that holds the bits and puts the sizes for each set on the black plastic box cover. See my pictures to see what i did.
