Sturdy but the screws are difficult to turn. And the quality of the screws is poor as the heads easily strip out when you put enough force against them to tighten them. Once tight they are sturdy and join the conduit pretty sturdy.

Inferior product. Poorly manufactured.
Would Not RecommendWeak, brittle metal and inferior machining. If the joint is stressed the coupler will split. Set screws don't fit the threaded holes properly. Half turn easily, and the other half feel "jammed."

Great for DIY projects
Would RecommendPerfect part to finish an extended length DIY curtain rod. I needed a sturdy curtain rod to hold 3 sets of curtains. This connector allowed me to use two shorter lengths of conduit. It reinforced the center and allowed for a quick disconnect to take down curtains without having to totally remove all hardware and all 6 curtains. 2 shorter lengths of conduit, one connector and 1 can of paint, Voila! , heavy duty extended length curtain rod.
