Ratings & Reviews for Shakespeare Replacement Metal Blades for Brush Cutter String Trimmer Head
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
The metal replacement blades are generally effective for cutting through tough vegetation like weeds, grass, and small brush. Many find the blades to be durable and suitable for heavy-duty trimming tasks. However, caution is advised as the blades can be prone to bending or breaking when used on larger or tougher materials. The blades may also throw debris with force, requiring care when used around delicate areas or people. Overall, the blades appear to be a versatile option for clearing overgrown areas, though they may require more frequent replacement compared to some other trimmer attachments.

Safety hazard
Would Not RecommendI won't buy these again. I tried them and as I was cutting near cement steps, they became dislodged and flew toward my grill tarp cover. Thank God my kids weren't around when it happened. I'll never buy these again for that reason. If you like them, becareful, but it's not worth it to me.
Pretty good blades...
Would RecommendThe metal blades are just a bit thinner (weaker) than I'd like but if you're careful what you cut they will last almost a season. Small saplings and underbrush will come down without a fuss. Stay out of vines of any size as they will hang in the blades, make the drive unit twist in your hands and cause the blade(s) to bend: Once bent they are worthless. I would like a lower price point as well.
Trimmer blades
Would RecommendThey are better than using rope or wire. Caution, very sharp, will throw material, i.e. stones, clippings.

Blades that last
Would RecommendTired of replacing line, bumpers that don't advance, and quick replace blades that take forever to replace? These blades actually use screws to hold them in place. . . . now you know you aren't expected to do that every two minutes. These blades do not cut down trees. If you try, the blades will bend and not work correctly. But if you bend them, you can straighten them back out and cut some more. Weeds, grass, even small bushes can be cut with little effort. Downside? The metal blade is mounted...

Use with caution in heavy brush
Would RecommendI bought these blades to cut the gazillion small Oak trees that sprout every year under my mature Oaks. The blades do fine on sprouts 1/2 inch diameter or less. On larger sprouts they wear out fast, either bending or breaking off at the tips.

great for brush
Would Recommendthese brush blades for weed eater are great for heavy brush and weeds. They are ridged so don't hit them on something hard; they will bend. I have been able to straighten them out and keep using them. They seem to last a long time.

Great addition to your weedeater!
Would RecommendThese blade add-ons are great because you can cut all that you can't with the line cutters. Anything up to large thumb size is easily cut through. I love these. They do wear quicker with larger material, but thick grass, poke salad, honey suckle that's a breeze. Plus they are cheap enough to buy new ones and save the used ones that aren't damaged as bad for a replacement later. Get them, you won't regret anything except not buying them sooner.

Cut brush
Would RecommendI have moved into a house witha 3 acre pond. The grounds have been untended for about 2 years. A brush hog and tractor was too expensive and operators said it was not a big enough job. I put this device to work. Cut through all the nasty growth, but after a bunch of bangs into cypress knees, one of the blades finally broke. Replaced the blade and went back to cutting. Forget nylon line! I want to get the job done and fish in the pond!
