I like that you can hang folders and organize items but the opening feels very flimsy & I worry it will break. I also wish it had a carry handle or some type of handles on the side to make carrying & grabbing it easier.

Sturdy, but otherwise unimpressed

Seems sturdy enough but wasn't overly impressed. The plastic latch seems very flimsy, to the point where I am worried I will snap it when opening or closing. The straps across the inner lid to hold items aren't very tight, so it doesn't really hold anything. Lastly, every time I open or close the unit, little white bits fall out from around the lock. Not sure what they even are, but it is a little gross. Overall, not impressed but as long as it works, that is what matters.

Poor long-term durability

Obviously this product isn’t engineered for long-term durability. Bought a few years ago, and it has been opened maybe 20 times a year in order to air out or to place or retrieve documents. Last time I opened it the hinge cracked and the lid fell off. Looking at other reviews it seems this is a common problem with this product.Would not recommend. I’ll pay more money and buy a Honeywell as a replacement.

Needs a File Stop

As I’ve seen other reviews - there needs to be a stop at the front hangar rail, because when the hanging files flop to the front, the lid won’t close. The latch is a great improvement over my last Sentry hanging file safe - I rarely lock them, and I like how the lid doesn’t come up on this one as I’m shifting its position. The newer grey color is much nicer and more modern than the old, horrible beige

HD4100 Fire/Water File is Cumbersome to Handle

I appreciate the protection my new HD4100 Fire/Water file box affords my important documents. This is my second fire safe from Sentry Safe. Thankfully, I have not had the opportunity to test their boxes to see if they are really fire/waterproof. Hopefully, I never will. My only complaint/suggestion is that I wish they had put a handle on top of the file box, or maybe two handles on the sides to make it easier to handle/pick up. I have my file boxes under a table and there is no easy way to grab...

Buyer Beware: Your Stored Items Could Be Damaged

I was extremely disappointed to learn that the safe’s fire-protective insulation has a high moisture content that could damaged stored items unless they are put in an airtight container. I bought the safe to protect such items. Now I worry that my items could be damaged in storage.

Great File Box

I purchased this as I wanted to keep some important papers safe and organized. I like the fact that it holds hanging folders and has storage in the lid.

Great safe at a good price

If you are looking for a safe that will fix any were in you house this is the one . I got to put all my important papers in one place my safe . It is water and fire proof. The price was great that sealed the deal for me .

Study safe

The safe is nice though the handle is plastic and looks like it could be easily broken though I don’t know for sure since I don’t want to try to break into the safe to test it.
