Strong and heavy

This safe is the perfect size for my needs, it is secure and heavy, hard to carry away during a break-in. It us a little difficult to learn how and hard to get into, but once you get use to it it works good.

Great fire/water resistant safe

This file safe is great despite some bad reviews. This safe is strictly for fire and water protection, if you want something to protect against theft I would get something else. The safe was easy to open the first time and no issues setting up code, just follow instructions, they are pretty straight forward. This safe used a 9 volt battery. no opening problems

I bought this even though I saw a lot of reviews about trouble opening it and people breaking the handle. Being aware of this I was careful when using it the first time. I personally think the problems people had were user error. I applied very light pressure pushing down and pressing on the latch and it works perfectly. Strong & Secure Safe

I enjoy using this safe because I now have an exact location to store warranties, personal documents (like birth & death certificates), Important receipts and lists of interest. I am now more organized and do not need to search all over in attempts to find certain papers when I need them, which is a big relief!

Secure safe that is fireproof and waterproof

I really like this safe to secure import documents, passports, etc. what I like about this one is the push button code as opposed to keys.

Difficult to open

For the protection I think it's worth the money but the lid is very hard to open. You have to press down hard on the lid while squeezing the lever. No success on any first try at all.

This safe is great to store all my important documents. I love it because I can easily open it with a code which is why I got it in the first.

cheap handle broke after only a couple uses

Disappointing. Cheap plastic lift handle broke after just a couple uses, locking me out. Now I have a support issue, while I can't get my passports for a trip.

Interior is just the right size. The over all size is compact and easy to handle.

Struggled to open, contacted customer services, quick response, make sure battery you use is good quality and in-date as this will impact on operation. Quite a knack to opening, not the easiest to use initially.

Door latch sticks

The safe is difficult to open. I have to hit the top lid downwards sharply before it will release. Sometimes I have to try two to three times.

The frame and enclosure of the FHW40300 appears first rate. It is solid and I have no doubt that in a fire or flood that the interior contents will be well protected. Even the seal on the top feels top notch. I gave only 3 stars as the locking mechanism does not appear to be the same caliber. It is clear that catch needs to be and is a tight fit to maintain a seal, but the lever to open it will not pull the catch to release unless you push up on the far right hand side where it has the great...

Okay but room for improvement

The product appears sturdy. My only negative comment is the process of unlocking. One must press down on the lid while pulling up on the latch.Not intuitive or good for tight spaces.
