liquid dripping from back of safe

I bought this safe from Lowes about a month ago and am just getting around to installing the battery. I turned the safe over looking for the battery door and found a panel in the middle of the back of the safe with a piece of white chalk like substance stuck in a panel door and a white chalky substance on the back of the safe. This is a terrible product -- Do not buy it

This is a terrible product. First of all the instructions are not very clear.......but you can get passed that. But the electronic lock is horrible. And I don't understand that ....it is not a new technology. And when the mechanism did unlock......you had to slam the lid to actually get it to open. The unit had been returned and restocked before I purchased it.......evident because the instructions had the prior customers new passcode written in it.

Unable to open safe.

I am unable to open my safe and when calling Customer Service was told to 'place 10 to 15 pounds on the lid for 30 minutes because oftentimes the seal expands making it difficult to open ". I did so to no avail. What if I needed to retrieve my passports from the safe to leave on a trip??!! [ The other sdvice I was given was: IF I WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE SAFE, I COULD CUT OUT/REMOVE THE SEAL AND THUS MAKE IT EASIER TO OPEN, BUT THEN THE SAFE WOULD NO LONGER BE WATERPROOF ...What kind of product is ...

Very hard to close and to open

Programming personal code was easy, but safe itself is very hard to close, and extremely hard to open. You have to press down with a lot of weight and so far I have only managed to open twice out of ten times unlocking with the code.

Hard for my wife to push and unlatch at the same time.

Large document storage

Safe has great document storage space, fits 8.5x11 in hanging folders. Was surprised by difficulty opening safe and the instructions might have include PRESS DOWN on lid before trying to engage release handle. I suspect it is this way because of the water seal. Overall, a great safe and recommend it.

It requires too much pressure to open. We must be weaklings.

Impossible to open! Do NOT get this safe!

This safe is impossible to open! Sometimes I was able to open it, but now I cannot open it no matter how hard I try! My stuff is stuck inside & I need my documents. I am returning it! I cannot believe SentrySafe does not have a 24 hour contact phone number for support since people keep important documents that are needed!!!! I did a troubleshoot & watched videos of others with the same problem. The battery is NEW, so it's not that, this safe is defective in the way it's made!!!! DO NOT BUY!

Gives me a feeling of security

We've only had it a couple of months. It's roomy enough for all our important documents. It's solid, strong, and secure. I can't testify to how well it holds up to being fire and water resistant as we haven't had that experience, and hope we never do.

Seems ok

Second one. First one with a pass code entry. No idea how good it is in respect of fire and/or flood and hope not to do so.

Safe and secure

Had no luck in finding a lockbox at various banks. The safe was my best option and is working great to secure valuable docs.

Works pretty well in the few days I have owned it. The safe is very heavy. I'm not sure if the electronic lock will even work in case it's in fire or water.

Jammed after first week

This safe is terrible. It is incredibly hard to open to begin with, and ours has now jammed after a week of use. Buy something else!
