Would Not RecommendThe box was taped like it was opened before. When I took it out of the box it was all marked up like it was scraped up. I needed the safe so I didn't send it back because the lock works. If you get a new one it is a nice safe.

A good safe for the price
Would RecommendThis chest safe is very good for the amount of money you pay. I considered getting a safe with keypad entry or a way to get into it without the key but I think just a good old fashioned safe with a key is the best way to go. It's waterproof it's fire resistant and it really has some heft to it when you pick it up by the handle. It's not too heavy you can carry it around easily if you need to but the weight that you feel when you do carry it lets you know that it's well made.

Serves purpose
Would RecommendHolds papers 8”x12 3/4”. I plan to make an index which will be to the side; my papers are 8x10. Good material, sturdy. Do not use lock so cannot comment on that. Bought for fireproof capability. Goes under the bed. My second sentry safe.

Perfect size for home use
Would RecommendBought this for home use to keep important papers and computer back up media in a fire/water safe environment. Perfect size for that and portable enough we could grab it on the way out if time permitted. Important to read the instructions carefully and put anything sensitive to moisture inside an air tight ziplock-type bag as the insulation used to protect your contents does release moisture over time.
