Masking tape will not stay on kraft paper

I have model # M1000-SRN. The tape will not stay on the kraft paper. Wide 3M blue painters tape and 3M Builders tape both 1.4 " wide will not track on the paper. It is easier to roll out kraft paper and tape it down. I think the tape is not rigid enough so it stretches and moves off the paper. I might try narrow tape on time before I dispense with this dispenser.

Useless

Can't get even 2ft without the tape coming off the paper. Definitely look for a different product if your considering this one!

Garbage, don’t buy

I bought this along with the 12” roll of paper and 1.88” blue painters tape. It was garbage from the outset. If you don’t mind the tape constantly not staying aligned with the edge of the paper as you try again and again to dispense it in a clean run to mask off what you’re trying to make off, then this is the product for you. I returned it with in 1/2 hour.

worthless

Actually, its a waste of time and money. The tape slides off the paper in about 4 inches. Not worth buying, let alone trying to sell it to unsuspecting customers. I’m taking mine back for a refund. I saved all the package materials, seeing it was a bit flaky from the get-go.

Not that great

The frame is a little flimsy and the tape does not stay on the paper very well because the frame flexes. Will need to keep realigning the tape back in the paper while you unroll the paper.

Essential tool for homeowners

My experience with this 3M paint masker has been outstanding. For me it has worked perfectly saving me a lot of prep time. I wish I had discovered it years ago. Not a professional quality tool but great for homeowners. Highly recommended !

Terrible

Plastic parts too small and cheap, tape and paper don’t line up

I guided it with my hand and the tape didn't come off the dispenser or anything it really helped make my job easier and quicker which was nice because I had a lot to do.

Degraded over time

I bought this in hopes of speeding up prep time and it did for the first 50 ft or so, then the tape slipped off of the paper and I thought nothing of it. Well it continued how happen more and more and after really looking at the plastic I noticed strain marks. I believe that I ether got a damaged masker or the plastic is just not strong enough. I would recommend the metal masker that Lowe’s sells I think it was only $10 more then this one.

Great for small project

I used this for a small paint project in one room and it was perfect for that. I would opt for the more expensive model if I was doing a larger project.

Walks off the paper after about two feet

My experience agrees with several others, the tape just moves to a thinner and thinner 'bite' of the paper and then comes off the paper entirely. Especially when using the wide tape there is no reason that this could not have been made to allow a wider grip on the paper. Very annoying

Time saver

I don’t know when these were invented but it rocks! It cuts masking time down, I’ll say, 60% if not more. With one tape job you can mask a window and frame. Best ever

Did what it was supposed to

Bought this to help tape up areas with paper before painting. Did what is was supposed to. Sometimes the tape didn't quite meet the paper roll but not sure if that was because the paper roll was "off" slightly when it was cut. I'd recommend to others, just make sure the tape and paper edges are flat on each side, so they will match up when being rolled out.
