Good primer

This is my go to for general painting prep for metal surfaces. I purchased two cans and one of them had a faulty spray nozzle. May be just a fluke because this has never happened before. I just used the one good nozzle for both cans. Sprays good and lays even .

Good adhesion on aluminum

I needed to coat some aluminum binding posts. I tried coating them with Rust -oleum paint without primer and the paint peeled right off. After recoating them with the etching primer, I could stick masking tape to them and the paint held fast. Good stuff...

great stuff

use it on my ammo cans, does a super job as an undercoat- then I use camo paint

Great primer

I use this stuff on everything, and it adheres to just about anything WITH THE PROPER PREP WORK. Don't skip steps or take shortcuts and it works great

Just what I needed

Used this to cover bare metal on a Jeep project I’ve been working on. Sanded to bare metal and needed something with bite to attach to surface. This is just what the doctor ordered..

Not strong enough for aluminum.

Don't know the reason. I have seen good results from other reviewers. My paint on aluminum is easily chipped with this self etching primer. Hope that rustoleum remove aluminum from the description of this product. I would still recommend it for carbon steel which I have done to a small part an it seems to be great.

Excellent spray can metal primer

I can say that this primer was easy to use and flowed well on the metal surface I was painting.

Steel Traps

Okay, I've used this product multiple times with great results but one was unusual and outstanding enough to mention specifically. I used this instead of dying and waxing steel leg hold traps used for fox and coyote. Provides super slick surface for fast closing, never scratched either in the box or when holding an animal. They just wipe clean and right back in the set. I did wash all of my new traps with hot water and detergent first to remove all the oil down to bare metal. No boiling, no smok...

Self Etching Primer

I have used this on multiple projects. It covers well and allows for a smooth overcoat.

Easy application and tough finish

The can allows you to spray at any angle, even upside down, which makes it easy to get to the underside edges to prevent rust all over. This primer dries fast (thin coats is the secret, liked the instructions say). It also will cost existing rust and prevent it from growing, within reason. You do need to sand or brush off the majority, but surface rust can be cleaned and painted. Was ready to paint quickly and the paint stuck very well.

It is primar, follow the directions and you shouldn't have any problems.

Self etching primer

Great for coating freshly cleaned steel surfaces ready for top coating with more Rustoleum products.

Does the job right

This primer is excellent. This is the second time using it. It goes on nice and even and the coverage is great. Anytime I need to paint metal I will be using this primer first.
