What Customers Are Saying

Customers overwhelmingly praise this primer for exceptional coverage, smooth application, and strong adhesion, particularly on metal surfaces. Reviewers consistently highlight even application, excellent sandability, and reliable performance as a base coat, with many citing years of trust for both hobbyist and professional projects. The primer effectively stops rust and prepares surfaces for durable finishes. A small number report occasional issues with can pressure loss or nozzle clogging over time, and a few mention adhesion or finish inconsistencies, though these remain outliers. Overall, most customers consider it a dependable, professional-grade choice.

Always great paint

Would Recommend

I used this to repaint metal lawn ornaments and it worked well. Rust-O-Leum paints usually hold up too.

Rustoleum Good as Usual

Would Recommend

Sprays on smooth. Seems to adhere quite good. 1 coat wet sanded easily. Covered quit well with Rustoleum paint. Good, like other rustoleum products I've used in the past. Time will tell if it keeps the trailer hitch from rusting again.

Good Primer

Would Recommend

Used this spray to fix some rust spots on my car. Primer went on smooth and sanded very well. Once painted the spots were very hard to see. Like other products from this company I would rate this an excellent product. The directions have the usual temperature, humidity , and cleaning precautions.

Terrible Product

Sprayed sprayed smooth (400 grit) metal, wiped down before, let stand 10 hours until next morning, 90-95 percent wiped off with a paper towel next morning. It’s was crusted up, never seen anything line it will have to resand

Great General Use Paint

Would Recommend

I was making a product that I didn't want to use flat pint on... just doesn't look well made. Really glossy paint shows up fingerprints and such way too much... so I thought I would try this. It's like the story of the three bears here... The first one was too flat... The second one was too shiny... And this one is... wait for it... Just right.

The primer covered well, dried quickly, and accepted the color coat fast. Was easily wet sanded and made a nice smooth finish.

Pretty poor grade of primer

Would Not Recommend

I sprayed a perfectly pristine piece of aluminum with this stuff and the next morning I could scrape the dried finish off with a fingernail.
