Disappointing Removed on/off and volume!

The Premier was a great device...I have 5. Needed a 6th, and after set up, I see it no longer has a “power” button and no more “volume” button. Now I have to use the TV remote...super inconvenient. Returning this new one and will shift to a different brand. Can’t believe ROKU modified the perfect device into a worthless chunk of plastic.

wfi bands

For those commenting that the premiere doesn't have 5Ghz band. No where in the spec does it say it has it. I would suggest that person and others read the specs before complaining. If you want 5Ghz go to the premiere stick or ultra for they both are dual band units.. Don't knock a product and say don't buy because you didn't do your home work. That's on you

Have had 6 months and it failed!

I have had this for six months and it failed! Could not find internet. Tried to talk with Roku and was informed that it is not supported.

Didn't Last Long

I bought this a month ago, in June 2020, and yesterday it stopped working in the middle of streaming show. No power. I unplugged, plugged it in again, and that didn't work. I cleaned the prongs on the plug and that didn't work. Plugged in into a different outlet and that didn't work. It's dead. This is one of four Roku devices I own - none of them are a Premiere. Roku Premier 4k will not see 5G network

My roku was working fine until the modeum was upgrade. Now it is worthless.

Doesn't support 5gz band

No real information on the site or in their materials, but this item doesn't support 5gz wifi band. Returning.

So far, so good

Not really a tech person. Decided cable was getting expensive and tired of having to renegotiate constantly with them. Bought a TV with Roku as part of the smart TV package. I'm impressed with all the stations and options for movies, news and more. Still becoming familiar with everything but liked it so much that I ordered 2 streaming sticks from Roku to attach my kids TV's. Able to basically "cut the cord" with cable. Very happy.

Bit slow on 4K streaming, but overall impressed!

I bought this a few days ago as a customer who was looking to cut the cord. I can say that I am very impressed with the overall interface and the performance of the apps. Although 4K streaming can be slightly slow from the Premiere's internet capabilities, I don't stream 4K content that often anyway, so I'm satisfied. Quick, portable, and very user friendly!

This thing is JUNK I’m on #2

This product is completely worthless it works about 30% of the time. I reached out to Roku and was told they would replace it. They did and the other one was just as bad, if not worse. It has no way for it to turn off just goes in to a screen saver mode causing it to over heat. This has made it so anytime we go to watch something on it the audio is glitching or the video is. The work around that we have figured out is to unplug it after use. This is incredibly annoying .

Works OK I suppose

Why the Tech Spec always leave out the WIFI specs is strange, but right off the bat I was annoyed to see this stick didn't see the dual band 5 Ghz channels. So I guess it only supports 2.4Ghz. Too bad this wasn't in the specs I would not have bought it! I guess due to the limited speed, streaming 4K is dicey at best, I watched a netflix 4K movie last night and it was so pixelated, it looked like 640x480 !

I didn’t find very much difference in regular and premier what don’t like about the premier is on the remote there is NO volume button unlike the regular roku I really value the volume button due to dislike having a extra remote for volume ALONE kinda regret spending the extra $$ on premier and not just buying a second regular roku wouldn’t recommend premier but would the roku regular one that is

Overheats

I got this unit for Christmas to replace the older model I had since we needed the option for Disney plus. My old unit turned off when inactive, but this model keeps running and for some reason runs pretty Hot. Has not been an issue yet but I feel it shouldn't be running this hot. It melted the rubber strip it came with to attach to the TV. Not sure if I have a bad unit or need to be concerned.

Great. Features

I bought this a few again and I love it. I have another one on my bigger TV and I love Roku Boxes. So far no problem. First one I had 9 yrs I think till I up graded (2) one was 7yrs and I loved it till it quit working.

Missing ethernet connections

I bought this to upgrade my old roku since it was said that some apps would stop working...did not realize that the ethernet connections is missing...for the price it's not bad...
