Roku premiere

Would Not Recommend

I purchased this a little over a year ago but only started using it the end of November and it is constantly overheating and not working properly. Very disappointed since we can't get any support for it. And Roku doesn't support this model . We had an older Roku stick that lasted over 5 years.

We purchased 2 roku 2930x devices in 2020 and following an automatic update pushed through the manufacturer; completely rendered our devices unusable. This is a known issue - keep seeing this complaint from multiple roku purchasers online as well. In addition, it has been essentially impossible to reach a live customer support agent through their website. After this last experience, we won't be purchasing any more of their devices.

Good while it lasted

Would Not Recommend

Bought it less than a year ago. Worked like a charm until about 6 months of use. Now it wont connect to the same Wi-Fi its always been connected to and wont allow me to even connect my hotspot which was my back up when it started acting up. After multiple attempts of restarting and resetting, i tossed it where it belongs. Wont purchase or recommend again.

I bought this almost an month ago and I’m highly disappointed. My Roku only connects to personal hot spot and not my actual WI-FI. How dumb is that. So not only it doesn’t connect automatically to Wi-Fi, I have to restart at every use!!!!!

I have to restart it every day before I use it because the sound cuts out every few seconds. And sometimes there are horizontal lines flickering randomly on the TV screen after restarting the device requiring another restart. Also, the remote is IR which does not work as well as my old Roku which used RF.

No 5GHz in 2021?

Watching a movie the other night the stream quit working multiple times to where we finally gave up. Looking into it this device doesn’t connect to 5GHz. The 2.4GHz WiFi band has interferences from all kinds of devices. Why would you make a 4K streaming device that doesn’t connect to the 5GHz band WiFi when its been out for over 10 years. Needless to say I’ll be replacing it with a different brand that actually works with 5GHz so you can actually watch 4K video without buffering issues.

Waste of money in 2021

Bought this to get off of our LG Smart TV with the integrated WebOS because this advertised support for 4K streaming. Works about 50% of the time, the rest of the time, it has a lot off trouble loading 4k videos on Netflix, amazon prime and sling that the LG Smart TV had no trouble with it at all. The lack of a 5ghz wireless connection and only wireless B/G/N support is ancient in terms of wireless technology by at least a decade. Overheating

I had this streaming player about a year or two and it has constant over heating issues . I repeat the steps of unplugging at least 10 mins but still over heats? I am disappointed as I switched from the fire stick to Roku after hearing such great things and cutting the cord. If roku doesnt improve it will loose valuable customers so improved.
