Bought the door and was told i needed to paint it for the warranty to be applied. It was nice that someone told us that before we bought it because i bought the fiberglass instead of steel, which was the cheaper price. I was also shown that steel door are easy to get dents in. So overall very happy with my purchase.

What a difference a new door makes!

I never realized how much a difference new exterior doors can make! I replaced 2 40 year old substandard doors from the garage into the lower level of our house. Now when I enter from the garage, I feel like I am walking into a much newer home. Solid construction, quiet movement, and a perfect fit.

Therma-Tru Door

We purchased this door from Lowes after searching other suppliers. Lowe's had the best price and were very helpful with rough in measurements and suggestions on framing for the door. Love shopping at Lowe's.

Not Full Size Door

According to ThermaTru, the Benchmark line is made exclusively for Lowes. It is a retrofit door and is smaller in size. If you are trying to replace an old Therma Tru door like a Traditions line you need to go with the Traditions or Profile line to get an exact match. Otherwise, you will end up with bigger gaps between the door frame and the jambs and the siding of the house and the door moulding. If you are ok with that them by all means.

Door is OK, Frame is Not.

Installed this myself, as I have always done. I don't like the frame construction and quality. My worst dislike is the threshold, which is so thin I actually dropped a part of a dead bolt on it, and it dented. This will not end well then the kids jump up and down on it. The hinges protrude inside about 1/2" more than standard hinges, which make me believe they are the wrong hinges for that door and jamb combination, or were installed wrong at the factory. poor quality control

I needed a door quickly and couldn't wait for my usual therma-tru dealer delivery. I picked up one of these, but the quality is not up to normal Therma-Tru standards. The sill on the unit was not mounted parallel to the opening. The result is that the sill extends beyond the jambs 1/4" more on one side than the other. I have stage 4 pancreatic cancer and has been doing repairs on our house for the last 2 years, and I spend a lot of time in lowes me and my husband, my friends always ask me how do I keep going I tell them that lowes is my favorite store, I spend a lot of time there, I really do think going there helps me to keep going besides Jehovah, I'm happy when I go to lowes

Very poor quality, had to re-hang a hinge

My first clue was that it was very, very difficult to get the pins out the hinges so I could paint the door. I was doing this pre-install so none of this is an install issue. Three days later the door and frame are painted and I attempt to put the door back in the frame and it wont fit. I notice that one of the hinges on the door is mounted at a wierd angle, so I straighten it out.
