Older technology; slow response to app instruction

I'm used to it now -- pretty much. I didn't find the app very user friendly (obvious how to navigate it without asking someone who lives in the tech and app world). It is slow to connect through the wifi and respond by starting the sprinklers. Sometimes it starts the water within a minute; other times it takes 3-5 minutes, or doesn't start at all. I always thought that Rainbird was a premium product and I'm surprised that this product fell short in so many areas. With the lack of a user interface on the front of the unit and being totally reliant on bluetooth and wifi to operate and program one would expect a much better wireless experience. Does the job, but wireless is a bit fussy

This controller succeeds or fails on the strength of your wireless connection to the controller and whether (or not) you like the app on your phone that controls it. The instructions say you should have "at least two bars" of wireless connectivity which isn't true -- my Pixel 3A shows 75% wireless strength at the location and the controller couldn't make the connection unaided. Wi-fi range is very limited

Title says all. The control panel location is located on the opposite side of the garage. All of the support wiring is located at this point. Once the door to the interior of the house is closed, the wi-fi signal is so weak that the communication between the Rain Bird control panel and my cell phone is for all practical purposes useless since the signal does not penetrate the interior walls.. I am thrilled that I got this to replace my rain bird Wi-Fi controller that only worked when I stood next to the controller. This new unit was easy to install and setup. Best part was the Wi-Fi feature really does work well. I can turn the sprinklers with my phone. I tied to contact the controller from about a mile from home and it worked fine

The easiest set up ever

I replaced my ST8O-2.0 after it was damaged in a lightning storm. This ARC8 was the easiest and quickest to get up and running it took me about 15 minutes. Great Product! Much improved!

Terrible Product

This product is poorly designed and is not a practical way of watering your garden! Installed it but couldn’t easily set up any programs. All I got was pages of preset information. I took it back to Lowe’s immediately. It’s a shame that such a quality brand like Rainbird to produce such a piece of junk!
