Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
The cooler is well-constructed and keeps contents cold for a long time. However, many users report issues with the zipper, which is difficult to operate and often breaks after limited use. Some also find the backpack straps uncomfortable for carrying the cooler for extended periods. While the cooler functions well as an insulated container, the backpack design seems to be the main source of dissatisfaction.

Had for about 4 years. Great cooler pack but zipper failed
Great cooler pack. Used it for climbing/fishing trips or family day at the beach. Keeps everything ice cold for days and much less expensive than a my Yeti. Zipper finally had a fatal flaw rendering the cooler useless. The bungee cord lost its elasticity as well.

Lid failed
I was given the 36 can cooler as a father's day gift. It lasted just over a year and then the lid detached (glue failed). No warranty support so quite an expensive investment to not make it 2 years. Very disappointed.

Best Cooler Ever
We have this cooler and my husband and I love it - it has travelled from New Jersey to Florida two times and we are very happy with it.

Zipper just didn't hold up
My regular soft cooler finally fell apart after 6 years so I went with the backpack one. Loved it initially and was great for first 6 months. Then zipper started to give me problems and now it won't zip at all. Maybe I got a lemon, but a friend had the same problem with his regular style soft cooler just like me. Seems like quality is not the same as it once was.

Terrible Cooler
Started off great the first time using it, but then by the second time we used it, the zipper broke. It was given to us as a gift, so we don't have the original receipt, and apparently they cannot replace the zipper without the receipt. I wouldn't recommend this cooler or brand. This is the first time using their products and the fact they cannot fix the zipper on a pricey cooler like this is worth me never purchasing from them in the future.

Cool concept but misses
We ordered the cooler for our wedding registry without seeing it in person. It seemed like a good idea at the time we ordered it but upon receiving and unboxing it, we realized our mistake. Compared to traditional coolers the backpack cooler is too deep and makes it extremely challenging to select different varieties of beverages. The fact that the cooler does not have a single small pocket for dry storage (phone, wallet, keys etc.) seems like a big miss on the design as well. Wish we could trad...

Do not recommend
The zipper will not last! Less than two years old (only used at beach during summer) and zipper already broke. Poor quality!

Zipper fail
The more I talk to Artic consumers, the more I hear of the zippers going bad. Artic wouldn't replace mine. It was given to me.as a gift. Without a receipt, Artic wouldn't honor their warranty. Please co rider before purchasing.

Fit is terrible
We purchased this 24 can backpack cooler to use as a backpack, which was a fantastic failure. The straps are so poorly positioned, when you load it, it is too uncomfortable to wear. I'm not talking about "it's a little awkward." The top leans so far off your body, and the bottom digs into your back, you can't walk with it on. It both bounces too much, pinches your neck, and hits your back. This isn't an issue with my size or the strap adjustments. It acted the same on my 10 year old, my wife, a...

Zipper broke
The zipper broke off 10 days after the warranty expired. I’m using a zip tie as a substitute. Disappointed in the quality of the zipper. The cooler itself works well.

Good cooler, bad backpack
I researched backpack coolers before deciding on this one. I just packed the cooler up with 12 beers and a little ice then put it on as a backpack. I'm 5'8" and used to carrying heavy loads, and after 3 minutes with it on my back, I began to feel uncomfortable pressure on the top of my hips and lower back as the hard edge of the bottom of the cooler rested in my lower back. The backpack portion of this cooler does not function well due to its shape. I tried tightening straps and chest strap ...

Good while it lasted
I’ve had this backpack for about 3 years and this last time I took it to the beach the top fell apart. The trimming unglued itself from the lid and the zipper started falling apart. While I had it, it worked great, kept the ice from melting for a while.

Backpack cooler
Cooler has made two beach trips and now the zipper is falling apart

Ripped zipper
Zipper completely ripped off in less than 2 years of having it.

Zipper tab broke off
I use my cooler every day at work. The zipper tab has broken off. I have not had it very long, which is very disappointing. It is very comfortable and if I hiked it would work very well. It just doesn't seem built to be opened seven times a day, seven days a week for 6 months

Love the portability
Would RecommendGreat cooler- easy to carry
Worst purchase I've made
I’m so beyond frustrated with this cooler I’ve been compelled to write an essay. I purchased this cooler for a car camping trip and it managed to fail at every turn. ICE RETENTION: The places we camped has temperature lows in the 30s and highs in the 50s, yet I was still purchasing bags of ice everyday as it would all be melted within a 24 hour period. Maybe I was expecting too much but I thought surely it would perform better. These places weren’t particularly sunny either, in fact it was sno...

Zipper last just over a year
Zipper lasted just over a year and completely off track and now unusable

Design failure
I have two of these… zippers were tough on both. Used the lubricant as directed too. Also TX heat made the adhesives melt and coolers fell apart. I glued back with another adhesive but it was never the same.
