Terrible Design. Terrible Price.

As I write this, 8 of 12 previous reviewers have already complained about not being able to remove roller covers and/or that paint got into the tube, rendering it useless. I also cannot remove the cover (a Purdy product). The hilarious thing is that the packaging clearly states: "Easy Roller Cover Release". Needed to Sand Down Ribs on Roller Cage

Recently purchased the Jumbo Mini Roller Frame. The roller and frame worked fine. I ran into same problem of removing the roller when finished. It appears the ribs on the roller cage grip the roller too much. I lightly sanded these down, not too much, to ensure they would still provide grip on roller but just enough to allow the roller to be easier to remove. Not sure if this is a design problem or a quality control issue. But hope Purdy can modify to improve their product. Thank you

Seriously can't make the cage come off

Total waste of money. No directions available on website or on package Extremely disappointed. Using a different brand I duct taped together but at least it works. This thing does not. Zero stars...

Ok but...

The roller itself worked fine. And it’s small size was useful. But I wish Purdy had responded to the other customer who had requested how to remove the roller itself because then I would’ve known the answer I’ve been able to continue with my work today rather than completely stop and wait 2 days to contact Purdy customer service.

Purdy roller cage

Bought this product as recommended by a friend....Have to say extremely disappointed ascoukd notremove roller sleeve after use. I have been painting for many years and always favoured other products as found Purdy quite expensive...However gave this try as bought purdy collosus roller sleeves and found them to be superb,so hopi ng the roller cage to be the same. All I can say is not impressed unfortunately,

Great finiish, helped final cut!

I have been painting all my life and get better each time I paint. I paint the ceiling and the tape it after it dries. Then paint the walls. I used to brush the wall, where it meets the ceiling and get a pretty good line. But you can always see the texture difference between the brush marks and rolling. With this product I was able to roll the ceiling right up to the ceiling with a lighter amount of paint minimizing the bleed through the tape. Great lines. I had to firmly pull the the roller off...

Can’t reuse roller!

You can’t removed the roller covers so once the cover needs replaced you need to throw it out! Never going to buy another purdy roller.

Excellent mini roller

I have painted for over 25 years used a bunch of mini rollers and Purdy mini rollers far exceeds any I have used

Very Good but not quite Great yet.

I've used a host of PURDY products for several years with very good results, as expected and appreciated. However this last Mini-Roller Frame was a different story all together. It would create an annoying squeak regardless of which Roller or Paint used. When it was time cleanup the end cap and all came right off into the trash. I wasn't about to reach into the can to attempt a retrieval. I hope this was a fluke.

Can't find directions for the quick disconnect.

Cannot remove the used roller brush. Leaving the roller unusable after first and only use.

Good for Only One Use

The first time I used it, it worked great. After cleaning it and putting it away for a year, I found that the roller would not turn at all. Upon further investigation, I took the "C"shaped pin off so I could take it apart and found dried paint stuck inside. I was unable to remove it to make the roller turn freely. its nice to use

I used this roller three times and the third time i pulled the roller off. the end cap stayed in the roller, now its broke. I purchased a new handle set. i would like to be reimbursed, thank you.

stick with wooster

stick with the jumbo koter from Wooster , ever since Sherwin Williams bought these guys its been down hill . cheaper quality and higher prices . rusty water in fresh paint is not good

Excellent Roller Frame

I don't know what issues everyone else is having with these. I've used mine 4 times already, and it has worked great each time. No issues what so ever. Only thing I can say is take time to clean them out properly after each use. Just like any other tool, they need to be cared for if you want them to perform.

Design faupaux on frames

Used to be all I used was Purdy brushes, rollers, & frames. Still happy with my arsenal of brushes & skins. Huge let down on the new cageless & 3/4" core mini frame design. Mini frame is easily cleaned inside & out but set screw seems to strip out way to easily. Yes people can say it's inexpensive replacement but y? I have 3 of older 9" & 2 of 4.5" design that are years old. My other gripe is new design on handle as it makes my old poles & adapters pretty much obsolete. Bring back heftier design...

Junk

I also have had the same problems as others. And yes I took care of it daily. Never wrapped it over night. On top of them getting a rusty leak from any moisture, which paint will produce, it has also completely locked up. So far I haven't found how to take it apart. Convenient Purdy.. wasted a lot of time as I bought it for behind toilets and had to remove the toilet because it froze up on me. When is American made going to mean durable, quality, and lasting again? Seems like everything is made ...

Inside roller leaks dirty water

Because of the design of the roller and the material, the water sits inside the roller after cleaning. The dirty water will leak out on the next paint jop. I tried various different ways to get rid of the dirty water before starting to paint to no avail. I am curious whether choosing aluminium would have prevented this. Would not buy again.

Waste of money

Same as above,a grey water coming from where the roller sits and ending up getting on the roller splashing your paintwork.

after reading all the negative reviews I was skeptical buying this roller. I really had no choice I need the 6 1/2 inch roller to paint a house. Does not last

Cleaned well after each use, it lasted less than a year. Then, the core would not roll and the cover just skidded across the surface. Horrible! Terrible investment. Roller and many covers headed to the garbage.
