How to add cheap garage door lighting

Liked that it was the perfect way to change my dim garage lighting into 2 bright LED shop lights when screwed into the bulb socket on a garage door opener. Works with shop lights that can be connected together in a row. Makes it much easier to see when unloading the vehicle at night.

Pretty basic adapter...

Does what it's supposed to do - converts a standard E26 socket to an a/c outlet. I used it for outside lights so I can control them from a switch inside. Installation was a breeze (obviously).

This was used to convert a sideways socket in a recessed ceiling from the 1940's to 50's. We didn't have any ceiling tiles to replace the fixture and socket was in good condition. So we attached a plug to a hanging light and plug it into the socket! I also used one of these about 10 years ago so I could hang xmas lights on my apartment outside ceiling via powered from the porch light!
