Good value

I needed a cord and a 3-way socket this was the only way to purchase it, as a set. I will most likely use the other parts another time. It was fairly easy to fix a vintage lamp. I really could have used a longer cord but the option of separate parts was not available.

The instructions could have been clearer for first timer users replacing their lamp socket. So far the lamp works fine with the new socket assembly.

good help for a common household repair

I am a first time user with minor skills. Instructions were clear, parts fit very old lamps perfectly. metal seems a little lighter than the ones I removed, but are certainly servicable. When you open the package, watch out for the set screw dropping out...it is very tiny.

One Good, One Bad

This product looks good - but is of very poor quality. The socket itself is fine and fairly well made, but most of the other parts are junk that doesn't fit together well. For example: The lampshade holding frame fits into the base just like any other. Except - the base "slit" is almost twice the width of the shade holder. If you want a shade that wobbles as you walk by - this is the one for you. You will need to mar the base with a pair a pliers to squeeze it together (like the factory should ...

Great functional product for lamp making projects. Only negative is that walmart carries the exact same product for almost $2.00 cheaper.

Fix up an old lamp

I fixed up an old lamp that had a chewed cord and bad connection. It worked fine.

pretty easy to use

I bought two as I had two lamps to repair. The first took longer as the instructions on adjusting the lamp socket were not very precise. Despite that. it was still pretty easy to do. The second lamp took one-third the time.

lamp repair kit

everything worked well until the small screw sleeve did not fit the original lamp , so I had to borrow the old part from the lamp to make things work. One size does not always fit all lamps. Surprise!!

Nice Lamp Kit

I've made a handful of lamps using this kit. It's nothing snazzy, but the parts work well. And it's cheaper than buying the parts individually. Even if you don't think you need the neck or finial, the price is worth it for the socket, harp, and harp base.
