Great product!

Using this product has made drywall repair a breeze. It allows me to paint without having to prime first and the results are amazing!

Quick set drywall compound

Will never use the ready mix compound. It may take a few minutes to mix but the end result is worth the effort. A more controlled dry time. Love the 20 minute bag for patches.

Practice makes perfect

Goes from plyable to hard very quickly...only mixed in smaller batches or it will turn your bucket into a boat anchor

Good stuff

Setting time is just about 45 minutes and there is very little shrinking or cracking. I always add several thin coats instead of a thicker single coat to ensure a solid dry surface

Works great

Purchased 45 minute drying time to be sure I had lots of time to use what I mixed. I used a mixer that attached to my drill. I really did not need 18 pounds and would have liked to buy 1/2 of that. Don't know if I will ever use it all before the 9 month shelf life expires.

Just finished project using this for first time

Tried the 45 minute cure time "hot mud". It was a bit messy mixing the powder and water and made sure I washed off my mixer drill attachment right after using. The only problem I had with this purchase was that I did not need 18 pounds and it would have been better if they had smaller bags for small job (less waste). Would also be easier to handle bag if smaller for DIY people. Bought the 45 minute bag to be sure I had plenty of time to do the job of retaping ceiling joints.

Best Spackle I’ve ever used, very little shrinkage , and fast dry times lets you do multiple coats in one day

Drywall Joint Compound mixing tip

Im currently redoing my house with drywall. Knowing I’m going to use a lot of compound I opted for powder so I can mix and use it as I go. Problem is the bags mixing directions are for the whole bag and not enough for a little here and there or small patch job, also one person can’t use the whole bag by themselves in 45 minutes. I had to break out the cooking scale to figure out the proper mixing formula for the powder. It would have been a whole lot easier if the bag simply stated 2:1 ratio of ...

Great stuff, but don't work too slow...

Ok, so this is a great product that once added water will begin to set in 45 minutes. The thing is, if you are not a pro and you are doing lots of details, corners, etc, trust me on this: mix small quantities (like 7 cups) or get the 90 minutes version; ... because it will begin to harden (set) in 45 minutes (they are not lying). In about 30 minutes you can come back and use your knife to smooth out little bumps in preparation for the next coat; after the initial 45 minutes, you can apply the se...

Did the job

This spackle mix was good. It did exactly what it was supposed to do. The only problem is that the directions on the side of the bag we're not easy to convert if you didn't want to use the entire bag which is the reason that we bought dry instead of premixed in the first place.

It's no durabond

I miss the durabond that Lowe's used to carry. They say this is moisture resistant once dry. Not entirely true. Durabond when dry would be hard as a rock and same when wet. This stuff returns to it's old form. Get a little damp and it softens right up even after a week of drying. Spreads nice and smooth however and does dry fast and easy to sand. Just miss my durabond. Once the bags I have are finished I won't be using this in a bathroom again.
