Would RecommendI'm a great fan of National gypsum, All their drywall compounds are superior to Usg.I use these products everyday as a drywall contractor. I wish Lowes would stock the midweight also but they rarely do.I see a lot of negative reviews. More than likely people who don't know what they are doing.G-stuf
2 Many Bubbles
Would Not RecommendTwo many bubbles. No good for skim coat. Had to put it on a board first and smash all the bubbles out before I could skim coat a patch. But that seems to be the way it is now because every other bucket I've bought in the last year has been like that.

"Premixed" is a bit of an Exaggeration
Would Not RecommendThe product requires quite a bit of mixing after opening to be called "premixed." I expected I would need to do some stirring but when I opened up it was semi-dry to the bottom of the container. I needed to take a drill mixer to it for 5 minutes before it became workable (and then it was ok). I ended up buying a second bucket as it was the only premix available and the same thing. Would RecommendLowes offers this product for good reason: Performance and that is what I love! I use with a 4 or 5 inch taping knife and achieve fantastic results. The feather in and and out of subsequent applications, when considering the lower dust in between sandings makes this the difference that makes the difference!

Strong chemical smell for days!
Would Not RecommendUsually I purchase the USG green bucket - thought this would apply easier. Not really true. And while it didn't have a strong odor when I opened the lid, after I applied it in closet, it had such a strong smell that we couldn't use the bedroom for days! Never had that experience with USG product. It can't be good for you. Requires STRONG ventilation for days.
