Fairly difficult to install

There aren't many steps to installing this product, but with some vague and difficult-to-implement directions, it was still a miserable process which yielded somewhat-unsatisfactory results. Or at least it will hopefully get up to that point, once I buy a replacement glass shade; the original one broke amidst my tenth or so attempt at getting the socket ring on it. Can light conversion kit

Great product, easy to install, cost efficient, good quality. Installed three kits in 15 minutes.

This made the transition very simple. But the top threaded fitting didn't match the part on this fixture, but I had another old fixture I switched the part for. People should check the dimensions of the threaded top bolt to avoid making another trip

Quick and Easy Update

We are doing some updating to our home and I decided that I wanted a pendant light over the kitchen sink where there was a recessed Light. This was so easy to install. I'm somebody's average grandma and I did it myself! The hardest part was deciding what kind of shade I wanted to feature. In fact we bought a second one for over the master bathroom jetted tub. A nice change and super easy.

So easy to install!

We just moved into a home built in the 70s and while I love our new house I sure missed the light from the vaulted ceilings at our old one. There are couple of pot lights in our galley kitchen and these we just what we needed to let a whole lot more light shine there. Very reasonable priced and crazy-ease to install, hardest part was picking the globes.

Amazingly easy

Simply take out the existing light bulb and screw in this pendant base. It is easy to adjust the length and there are many choices of beautiful shades to cover the lightbulb.

Not for Eyeball recessed lights

I had to return this light kit. I have a vaulted ceiling and have eyeball can lights over my sink. I hired a handyman to install 2 of these pendant light conversion kits. After over an hour, he said there was not way he could install it. Even if he could mount the socket, there wasn't enough room above to fit. I had to return product. I'm sure it would have been OK if it has a flat ceiling with regular can lights, just not for our application.

Pendant light for can light conversion

I used these kits to make wine bottle chandeliers. To do that the light kit has to be dis-assembled so it can be fed threw the wine bottle. This may be difficult or impossible for some people. My husband and I were absolutely delighted that this product actually was as easy to install as the directions showed it to be. Most of the time the claim, "easy installation" doesen't hold true. But this WAS!!! We were pleasatly surprised. In a matter of minutes we were able to completely transform the kitchen island.

We love these!! I found them on the internet as an option of adding pendant lights without having to hire/pay for an electrician. We went to Lowes and bought 3 for over our island and they went up quick and easy. I purchased 4 of a very similar unit (must be this one's predecessor - looks identical) 3 1/2 years ago. Back then, it was 266578 Nickel Recessed Can Adapt. They work great, but in the last year or so, I've noticed a scorching of the wire immediately above the pendant. Obviously due to the heat from the bulbs. But 60W bulbs are the maximum allowed per the instructions - I've been using 60W bulbs - so it shouldn't do that. Now I'm replacing the entire kit and reusing the pendant glass. So my ...

Ease of installation

I'll be seventy four next month and my new house has a vaulted ceiling in my kitchen area. For two years I've wanted pendant light instead of the ugly recessed can lights. After reading reviews and making sure I could reach light I was off to Lowe's. I just installed two in my kitchen and I love them. Easy as falling off a log. If this widow can do it anybody can.
