Wiring eventually bleeds

Had the clear wiring ones for about 2 years. Even though it says 60 watt max which we used, they started to like "bleed" or discolor right above the lamp. Looks terrible! and I worry if they are safe. We now need to replace them all. Don't buy these!

Very good product

Bought 3, easy to adjust the length, easy to install and accepts standard bulbs, led or curly-cue.

This will not work on recessed eyeball lights

This assumes the light socket within your existing fixture is stationary. I had eyeball recessed lights that when you remove the eyeball cover, the light sockets hangs loose. You can not let the weight of the light fixture pull directly on the wiring. Otherwise, this looks like a well thought out fixture IF you have a stationary light socket. Hope this helps someone. I'm back to the store :(

Easy to Install, Looks Great

We had been looking at these for a few years now. We decided to try on out in the kitchen. The process is so easy that you don't even need any tools.....WOW. Because of this cool experience, we are going to buy similar products for other places in our house so that we can jazz it up a bit.

Used three of these to update my kitchen. Very easy to install and provides better light than cans very high in ceiling. Lots of options on shades.

Awesome light

I had a can light from 1983 in the kitchen that is over the sink. It had a dated and ugly aluminum plate, and was shallow so that any bulb stuck out. It did not match the other more modern can lights and really was fugly. I saw this online and decided to try it and boy am I glad I did. It installed in about 4 minutes. If you can screw in a lightbulb, you can do this!

I’m pretty handy with most projects, but I usually shy away from all home improvement projects involving electricity and leave those to my husband. This was hands down the easiest project, and I did it all by myself. You just screw in the kit like you would a lightbulb and adjust the cable to your desired height. The “hardest” part was adjusting the cable, but that wasn’t really hard just tedious. I changed 4 fixtures in under an hour.

Can light replacement

Had can light over sink 9ft ceiling could not tell if dishes were clean. This pendant light easy too install and lights up the center island wonderfully. Looks great highly recommmend.

NOT Polished Nickel

Went to get this at the store and was extremely disappointed that it is not polished nickel as it states, but brushed nickel. The store was no help either.

Great kit

This kit provides a great work around for the hideous recessed light. All that is needed is included except a shade which would be personal choice. My electrician had the pendant light in less than 15 min and that included shortening the cord. Looks great over the sink.

Time estimate innacurate

The instructions say this takes an hour to install. I have to throw the bs flag on that. If your wife is there supervising the installation you will end up shortening and lengthening the wire, holding it up many times for her to evaluate, and then get asked for your opinion, which will probably be wrong. Seriously, before purchasing this, make sure the recessed lighting assembly will hold this much weight. Those cheap plastic ones will not and you'll end up pulling it out and replacing it with ...

Plate is big enough to cover 6 in recessed holes

Pendant is good but delicate since it doesn't mount independently from the cover plate but if it won't get pulled or have heavy shades, it wires just fine. It will cover recessed lighting 6in plus some, plate oohs 7 1/4.

I love it!!

I installed recessed lights in my kitchen area a few years ago. Some time afterwards, I decided that I wanted a different look for the lights over the breakfast bar, and decided on pendants. I initially thought I'd have to have call my electrician back. But, then I found this kit and I was so very pleased!! I am an retired military grandmother and was able to convert the lights myself. It's a very straight-forward and easy process and the results are fantastic!
