Clamp tight
Would RecommendI gave these clamps to my neighbor, I knew he was looking for something like that to keep the gate shut so his dog wouldn't get out, my neighbor says they are perfect, they keep the gate shut tight enough so the dog can't put his paw in and try to pull it open, smart dog because that's how he got out numerous times before, but now there's no way the dog can pull it open, I'm glad I saw these clamps at Lowe's, I knew my neighbor needed them, glad I could help.

My hobby is cross-stitching. I',m getting ready to cross stitch afghans. I need something like this to "hold together" my 4 2" dowels that the afghans will be "turned on". My ?'s are: Do the dowels "sit" in the "square" of the clamps and "close" at the tips of the clamps? Over time while working on afghans, will the "pressure" that I leave on the clamps "crack or break" my dowels? Will I have to "release the clamps" each time I stop for the day in my sewing?

Would RecommendI have a set of Pony hand clamps in my shop and use them constantly. They're sturdy, they grip firmly without twist, and easy to work with. It one of those tools that I never knew how much I needed until I owned them.

Great set of extra hands
Would RecommendI bought a set of the 4" clamps some months back as an upgrade to my old cheapo set that I'd had for years. Compared to my old hand clamps, these are a much needed upgrade. I like the fact that they are easy to release and strong enough to clamp solidly down. I've used them mostly to hold a straight edge while cutting long stock. Would RecommendGot these at my big box store about a month ago. they have becom my “go to” clamp because I enjoy making medium to large scaled items in my shop. The hand clamps have worked with zero problems. Couldn’t ask for any better tool in my shop.
