works pretty good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Took a while to take but it grew up in the patches. Nothing remarkable but it did grow.

It should be a crime to market this grass seed this way. This is about 1 lb of grass seed covered in 19 lbs of “fertilizer”. Bag says it covers 4000sqft. It might if you only put once seed of grass per square foot. It might grow great but you will only get a thick lawn if you use this to cover 100sq ft. What a scam!

Great product for pet patches

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this to patch where the yard was brown from my pets. I watered everyday and it filled the area. I loved having the grass back but found it was not the same as my other grass so it stood out. I plan to resend in the fall. It works to patch those stubborn areas

Didn't get the results I wanted

Planted it in late spring in fresh topsoil and starter fertilizer. Shot up in record time. Grew thick and fast. I was thrilled and amazed. Then June hit and when the weather hit 80's, almost every blade of grass turned brown and dried up. I have huge patches of burned out grass that I will have to do all over again this fall or next spring. Contacted Pennington about a refund and will get one, but they commented that "contractors mix is used by contractors, so I wouldn't be using it again". Tell...

I would recommend buying something better

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The seeds are difficult to spread and growing I think the inferior quality of the seeds caused slowed germination. I prepped the lawn (soil, sowing, watering) but not overwatering. I ensured to water lawn 2x day for 7 days and not overwatering. Only about 10% of the bag took and that would be overstating it. I am very disappointed and I will not purchase again in the future

Great coverage in patchy areas

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used this to fill in some patched in small grass areas around my pool, between the pool deck and garden beds. There was centipede grass before and it grows so slow that it just looked patchy, this seed took and filled in the patchy mess. It is a relatively non trafficked area, so it took well and grew green pretty quickly since the beginning of the warm season. The area is pretty much 50/50 sun and shade, but this seed worked out great.
