What Customers Are Saying
Customers praise this tool for cleanly cutting acrylic, plexiglass, and polycarbonate sheets, with many noting it cuts "like butter" and makes clean lines when used correctly with a straightedge and firm pressure. Most find it affordable and effective for light diffusers and poster frames. However, a significant portion report durability concerns, describing the tool as flimsy with blades breaking on first use or plastic bodies snapping under pressure. Several advise buying something sturdier, noting it won't last long despite initial performance. Overall, reviewers recommend it for occasional projects if used with proper technique, though durability remains a consistent frustration.

Would RecommendNeed straight edge to use. Not good for curves unless you have curved temple to follow.

Lowe's plastic cutter doesn't cut plastic
Would Not RecommendThis dedicated tool for cutting plastic sheets did not penetrate plastic sheet. Needed to resort to a hacksaw.

Effective
Would RecommendIt actually performs as presented. I’ve trimmed as little as an 1/8 inch off a piece with no problem by just following the directions of use.

Buy a better one.
Would Not RecommendThe tip broke on 2nd pass . As cheap as it was. I still thought it would last a bit longer. You get what you pay for.

This tool will let you cut curves in acrylic!
Would RecommendHad to wrap the handle in tape - it hurt my hand, but the blade was PERFECT for scoring acrylic sheet.

Scribing blade works as advertised, for a while.
Would RecommendWorked well for scribing a diffuser panel and a polycarbonate carpet protector used under office chairs. Multiple passes are required, and it can be tricky to follow the same line with each pass. I recommend using a guide clamped to the work piece. The scribing blade extends well out of the handle, so the side of the blade can be pressed up against a thick guide to help keep the blade point stay on a repeatable line. The polycarbonate scribing got harder as passes went on. I suspect the blade is...
