Would RecommendWell, it's a copper fitting what else can we say ? The threads are a bit coarse so I put about 8 turns of teflon tape (very thin, that's why) but ended up with no problem. I used it to repair my master bedroom toilet fill valve and shutoff since the valve went bad and the old shutoff was not shutting off anymore.... too old stuff was also hard to turn, so a new thing was in order. Job done in about one hour, next project please ?

Defective part (fitting)
Would RecommendPurchased two of these. After several solder joints were made and the water turned on, this defective part seeped a small amount around the middle section. It was as if this fitting is made in two parts and pressed together. Anyway it leaked and caused a lot of additional work to remove it and install a new one, which didn't leak. Lowe's took the part back with full refund. I've used several and this is the first time one has been defective. I would try it again if I needed another one, even tho...

Misleading product label
Would Not RecommendThe product should have been described as a 1/2" female slip-on connection at one end, as opposed to the 1/2" threaded female connection that had been requested (note that the 3/4" threaded male end was fine). Also, it should be noted that a bronze connector with threaded ends was finally obtained at the Medford, NY store where an in-store pick-up had been arranged.
