What Customers Are Saying

The Miracle-Gro Garden Feeder appears to have mixed reviews. While some customers report excellent results, easy use, and great convenience, many others have experienced significant issues with leaking, inconsistent fertilizer dispensing, and poor quality and durability. When the feeder works as intended, customers appreciate the ease of use and the results it produces, but the high number of complaints about reliability and functionality suggest the product may need design and manufacturing improvements to address the common problems.

Poor instructions on feeder.

Would Recommend

The instructions on the label of the feeder do not give complete instructions on proper use. For example, mixing of the granules is irregular, and actual feeding does not occur until 10 minutes of spraying. Does not inform user that the spray will appear colorless. Fluid remaining in the jar remains blue, leading the user to conclude there is still fertilizer to be dispensed.

Product leaks, DONE with it.

I foolishly bought a second Garden Feeder. I'm soaked, 50% of the water is on the ground. I will not buy another. I have an old feeder , >10 years old, does not leak. Miracle Grow people, get it together, stop selling this garbage and deceiving consumers.

Don't Buy This Piece of Juk!

The day I bought this, it did not worK: 1. It leaked badly from where the hose screws onto the lid. I tightened it with pliers but ths didn’t help. I removed the lid from my hose and dried the hose threads and wrapped with plumber’s tape. That did not stop the leak. 2, I tried to slide the yellow On/Off button, It wouldn’t move. 3. After tapping the On/Off button with a small hammer, it finally moved to the On position. 4. I set the nozzle to the Shower position. Then, I TRIED to s...

LEAKS

Would Not Recommend

Every year I buy a new one of these hose end feeders and every year the darn thing ends up leaking horribly, soaking my pants and shoes and not producing the right amount of water. For some reason, Miracle Gro just cannot fix this bad design. The unit leaks where the threading part meets the unit itself. Every. Single. Feeder. Just not going to waste my money anymore.

no way to just water, not feed

Would Not Recommend

I have been using your feeders for many years, alternating between the liquid feeders and powdered ones. This year's design failed to include a water only option which past years did. Why? I do not wish to take the the feeder off my hose every time I water and not fertilize, as that action leads to leaks.

Leakes after 5-10 uses

Would Not Recommend

I purchased the New model of your garden feeder in 8 /19. After a few uses, I stored it dry over the winter. This spring when attempting to use, the yellow handle leaked, soaking me more than the plants.. So it lasted for 1 bag of fertilizer on the garden. I also owned the original Miracle-Gro garden feeder and used it for at least 20 years before it started leaking. I have asked for a replacement.

Undissolved crystals?

Would Recommend

Mind has not leaked. I have a question: If you put a packet of crystals in the container (you don't add water to the container to dissolve the crystals, right?), and start spraying, the container is full of undissolved crystals, so how does the fertilizer get to the plants. The water coming out was always clear. I sprayed for about 15 minutes and removed the container and it was full of undissolved crystals, making me wonder if any fertilizer actually came out. When I tilted the feeder so the ...

Great for all plants/gardens!

Would Recommend

Each summer & spring I rave to everyone about this product so I decided to come on here and leave my official review. I have used this garden feeder for many, many years. I have rebought it many times and each year I continue to have great results with it. It’s such a easy way to ‘feed” your plants. I have herbs, vegetable plants, and many flowers on the outside of my house and I use them for all of them. In the summer, (well spring we start a garden) we use this for our huge garden and it works...

Shower position clogs

Would Not Recommend

I've filled the reservoir with Miracle Gro blue crystals as instructed and filled with water 24 hours before using to allow the powder to disolve. Despite this, the hose end sprayer shower position quickly clogs when trying to use. I disassembled the head and cleaned out the end, then reassembled it and tried to use it again. And once again it quickly clogged. It seems the powder is not dissolving. Suggestions?

Trigger breaks

Would Not Recommend

I purchased the second New model of your garden feeder on 11/2/18. The first one lasted about a year before the trigger quit working not allowing the sprayer to be shut off. So basically got one season out of the sprayer. The exact same thing happened to the previous one I purchased. I also owned the original Miracle-Gro garden feeder and used it for at least 20 years before it started leaking around the hose connection. Why can’t you come up with a higher quality sprayer, even if you have to ...

Need better instructions

Would Recommend

I've used this feeder and I guess it works but I think Miracle Grow would have fewer complaints on this product if they would include some instructions that are actually helpful, unlike the ones that are provided. I read here in the reviews that filling the jar takes 4 minutes. I believe that, but why dont they instruct us to go ahead and fill up the jar before we attach it to the sprayer? That way, one does not have to stand around picking their nose for four minutes while the jar fills up. ...

Don’t Purchase

Would Not Recommend

I have used MG for all my gardening needs and that’s a lot of years. My old Miracle Grow feeder lasted(and worked like a charm) for at least 15 years. Last year I bought a new one, and it looked spanking new. However, it has been a problem since the first use. The yellow slider lock was nifty and the pulsing action nob was so convenient for different bushes, tall or short. Anyway, it’s bigger but the handle really made feeding my plants so much easier. Then, the lock mechanism fell into the ...

Best Small Job Sprayer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Did not know how well this would work when I bought it. I'm glad that I did. I was able to do my flower and vegetable gardens with ease. I have bought a second one so I can use one and my wife also to get done faster. Well pleased.

Poor design

Would Not Recommend

The feeder leaked as described by others and, despite following the directions, I was unable to determine if the product had mixed or how much I had applied. when finished, after approx 15 minutes of use, I found that a significant sludge of miracle grow remained in the container. There needs to be a way to know, based on the amount of feeding you plan to do, to mix what you need and then know when you have used it all. My experience was that i had no idea if the product was mixed (and yes i ...

Can't tell if it's working!

Would Not Recommend

The reservoir never empties even though I can see water moving and mixing with the contents. I can't tell how much is being used - if anything! The spray is very clear and not tinted at all. I have used the LIQUID feeder in the past and will probably go back to that since I know for sure it's working because the bottle empties, the spray is tinted, and I can usually smell the product a little bit in the spray. It just seems more wasteful to have all those plastic bottles (that I recycle) which...

Sprayer is cheap, broken, doesn't work!

Would Not Recommend

Should of read these reviews before buying 2nd sprayer. I bought one this spring, tried to use it and water sprayed all over but not out of the holes to spray. I checked, yes black washer is in there. My hose is brand new and works with other sprayers. So I figured some how it was damaged in the garage. So I buy a second one. Exact same issue. So bummed! Waste of $ and time.
