easy to use, clean finish. dried really fast, so be careful you're not making any drips, because you will have to scrape them off if they are left to dry for more than a few minutes.

Easy and Fast!

A little goes a long way! It dries really fast and can be recoated quickly. Plus it cleans up with soap and water. Only draw back is that it will probably take me 5 years to use a whole gallon!

MAX ULTRA FLAT

I have no idea if different sheens are better but this is one of the DIY products that just does not work. I have been refinishing for over 20 years and know how to lay out clear vs latex paint. The product has to be mixed with a power mixer as without you will have clumps. The issue with this product is it dries too fast. I believe that is why it clumps in its own can. I'll give it this: It dries FAST. It dries so fast that in the time it takes to dip the brush to make another brushstroke, the previous brushstroke will start PEELING UP as you brush over the edge. Forget having a wet edge to run the next brushstroke into for a smooth finish. Forget cleaning drips from the edge of your project after finishing a brushstroke. Good product does what it says

Grabbed this because it was supposed to be fast drying mehhh it is but not anything crazy and it’s a little difficult to get the brush lines out due to the viscosity and setting time but still none the less good product does what it says and protects my indoor projects with out having to dry for a full 24 hours

The king of acrylic clear coat!

This is a true one coat clear, the satin finish is perfect. The water based acrylic reminds me of a quality acrylic paint but in a clear coat! It’s choice but doesn’t like to be sprayed, it’s too thick and isn’t supposed to be thinned. It doesn’t carry brush marks so it’s not really an issue. Cure time is quick (24 hours set, 4-5 days complete), dehydrating is ultra quick (about 10 minutes). A bit speedy but the coat quality makes it worth it. Time will tell how it holds up.

Amazing!

Minwax Max is amazing. I have a 20 year old hardwood floor in my home office that had become worn. The Minwax Max went on very thick and smooth and dried within an hour. It also has a relatively low VOC odor. I applied two coats and am using it in less than 12 hours later. I have no idea how they make this but it is amazing.

It has a strong smell when it’s drying.

This product worked well for my project. It went on easily and dried quickly. I had some trouble seeing where I had applied it and needed to use a flashlight to be sure I got coverage. My project was a pho wall finish. The sealer filled in and flattened it out even more. It had a pretty strong smell for a few days that made me cough. But it’s a good product.

Does not work as described

This product did not really do what was promised. We put multiple coats our new butcher block countertop and water still leaves spots and rings on it. We are going to have to sand it completely down and start all over with a new type of sealant.

Don't waste your money

I have plenty of woodworking experience, so I would like to say this is not due to user error. I was doing a remodel using minwax's water-based polycrylic. Unfortunately I ran out towards the end of my project and Lowe's no longer carried the standard polycrylic. They had switched to polycrylic max. Having had extremely good results with the standard polycrylic I purchased it without any hesitation. Unfortunately, this product peels for no reason, and scratches with the lightest touch.
