What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this polyurethane for its ease of application and fast drying time, with most noting it levels smoothly and dries in two to four hours between coats. Many highlight that only two coats are needed instead of three, saving time and effort. Reviewers consistently commend the durable, professional finish that enhances wood with a warm glow and resists scratches. Several note excellent coverage, with one gallon covering large projects. However, some customers report strong, lingering odors requiring excellent ventilation, and a few mention inconsistencies between product sizes or receiving incorrect sheens. Despite these drawbacks, most consider it highly effective and reliable.

DONT BUY!!
Would Not RecommendI have used minwax polyurethane for over 25 years and was great. Bought a gallon for a project and what a mistake and mess. It dries too quick, streaks, bubbles and it skims over in the can over night. Tried putting it in a sealed jar, filled clean to the top and it did the same thing making it clumpy. Very disappointed. Will no longer buy your products.

CLUMPY, DOESN'T FLOW OR SMOOTH OUT. ROUGH FINISH
Would Not RecommendIt had these JELL clumps all throughout it.. When I PUT IT ON PERFECTLY SMOOTH WOOD, AFTER IT DRIED IT HAD A ROUGH FEEL TO IT, NEEDED TO BE SANDED... Terrible product, they should go back to the original product, we don't need this fast dry ship.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Fast Drying Polyurethane. A rough finish or bubbles after applying are a result of overworking the produ...

Must stir as directed!
I used this twice - once without stirring every 15 minutes and once stirring that often. It came out flat (satin) when I stirred as directed.

Avoid the one gallon version.
Would Not RecommendThe one gallon version of the poly is a completely different varnish than the version the comes in a one quart can due to VOC requirements. The one quart version is great. The one gallon version does not flow, is very thick, takes longer to dry And does not penetrate - avoid it. The one quart version is not subject to the VOC rules, does not stink and performs well.

Minwax penetrating stain and oil based polyurethan
Would RecommendI don't write reviews but in this case I thought this may be beneficial for others. My project was 200 board feet of bookcase, six bookcases each with four shelves and side supports all made from sassafras planed and sanded down to 220 grit. The penetrating stain worked as stated on instructions on can and looked beautiful. I used provincial wiped off after 10 - 15 minutes with paper towels and applied gunstock as second color because customer liked the idea of a red/orange tint to the rich br...

You can write a review, but you can't read them.
Would Not RecommendInteresting website. You can write a review, actually more than one. You just can't read any of them. At one time was Minwax was literally the best manufacturer of commercial stains and finishes. Throw in a decade or two, a couple of acquisitions and stir and you a review list where 1/3 of the reviews are 1 star. It turns out after shaking, spraying and drying between 4 coats, the problem was no or very little polyurethane in the can. The can was just a can of polyurethane solvent.

MINWAX® FAST-DRYING POLYURETHANE - Warm Satin
I give up. What does "Warm Satin" mean? I can't even find out if it's the same as regular "Satin". The store clerk tried it on a sample piece of wood. All I can say is it looked very odd. Since we had no regular "satin" the test was meaningless. I ordered a can of regular "satin" online.

Great product but the smell doesn’t leave.
Would RecommendThe product is great, makes my floors look wonderful, however, unless you have a fantastic ventilation unit, this is NOT THE PRODUCT to use in an enclosed home during a heat wave, after two weeks I cannot get the smell out of my house!
